Ayers Injury

A few minutes ago Ayers tweeted, "The disrespect is going to stop. I promise that. shhhhhhh"

Not sure exactly what that means. But interesting.

Maybe Tomlin has been "stashing" him and has him slated to be the new punt returner?

I wouldn't worry about a guy named biscuit. He's a ghost and doubt he will post much more. Allthough I want AYERS to make the 53 in a bad way, I feel he is on the bubble and it comes down to if they keep 6 WR on the roster. GOOD LUCK Mr.Ayers, God Speed.

Ayers was cut today per Jeremy Fowler
 
Ayers seems to be getting pissed off and mouthy. To bad this attitude did not make it on the field. Ability and desire are two different things . If he clears waivers, if he has been let go than lets see that then.
 
I felt Ayers was too small and slow, but a gamer type. Now he has issues staying healthy. His Rudy story ends today, but at least he had one.

Tough week for Houston, and Ayers fans.

I will never understand the fascination with Ayers. I don't think he sucks, and he'll catch on and be a 4th or 5th receiver somewhere, but he's just a guy. I really don't get it.

Agree, he is OK but a dime a dozen talent in the NFL.

What is wrong with pimping your favorite players. I love Marcus Tucker, he is better than Hunter and DHB and probably the equal of Rodgers if given the same opportunity.

Well a 4.71 combine 40 with an injured hand is not fast. That is the fact Jack. ( movie quote )

Yeah he ran better in his pro day, but small, can't stay healthy and not fast Wide Recievers do not last long in the NFL.

I hope you are correct. He has to understand his value here and know from last season he would be on injury away from being part of the 53.

I've said all along he had to be healthy to make the team. He wasn't and didn't. Hopefully his lack of action in the preseason will keep him off the radar of other WR weak teams....we shall see
 
I hope Ayers makes the PS. Besides his injury setback I thought he did well in the short window of opportunity. Doesn't mean he can't still develop. Some just take a little longer than others. I am not ready to anoint him or am I ready to call him a scrub because of his setback. For me he is somewhere in between.
 
My hope is he clears and then makes the PS. He came on pretty good for the few opportunities he had last year. I was hoping he would stick due to his PR prowess but due to injury he had few chances. I hope he wasn't serious as to NOT signing to practice squad as That will be his only route to the 53 of the STEELERS. Time will play this out and I'll hope for the best.

Two things: It's weird that no one, not one reporter, ever gave us the skinny on the nature of his injury.

And, he needs to cool it with the "disrespect" nonsense. I told him all that garbage will do is get him labeled as a malcontent.

If Steeler management "disrespected" him, they wouldn't have 1) drafted him; 2) called him up late in his rookie season, and 3) signed him to come back this year.

If they want him back for the practice squad - and that's a big if, given his reported grousing - he needs to stop tjhe hangdog routine, say yes, and get to work.

Makes sense. Edelman is down and Amendola is injury prone. Here he has Rogers in front of him and probably JuJu. Too bad but wish him the best. Any word on Golson yet?
