I've been drinking since 10am. Go easy on me.

How's the draft shaping up in our minds?

How is everyone dealing with social distancing?

I start my days with Irish coffee now. Days are much different when i don't have to drive.

The draft will be unlike we have seen before. I don't see the Steelers being major movers. More of pick the BPA on a list of needs and then run around the room with excitement flailing their arms reminiscent of the robot from Lost in Space. Here we have a routine in place and with caring for an immune compromised person we will keep the same approach until their is stable treatment. Might be a long haul. So questions. What is your three realistic favorite options for the round 2 pick? Which position will be picked first for the Steelers? How is your family dealing with the adjustments to date? Do you have a smoker and if so what is your favorite meat to smoke? True or false the Steelers will bring in a free agent after the draft?

Great questions Slash. Personal questions first:

Family is well. I've been home since 3/11 with no plans on going anywhere. My wife sells houses, she still goes out about once a week to let people into a home for viewing, but she doesn't interact with them. Just unlocks. Waits for them to go through, then locks back up. She's also a librarian, and does that virtually. Daughter is doing work from home, between 1-2hrs a day of reading, riting and rithmatic...

Dad and uncle have a smoker and my uncle butchers and prepares his own venison. They're smoking venison bologna, which is my absolute favorite.

Who do they pick at 49? I'm going through needs, and I'm moving away from RB. I honestly think, today, best bet will be a tall, fast WR. The second need would be IOL, position flexible C who has experience playing both C and G in college. To a lesser extant, I'd go S or OT. It's too high to take a NT in this draft for value. Edge is the longshot IMHO.

The only starting positions without a starter are LG an NT. That's it. We filled with Wis, but I see him as a Vet spot starter and not a full timer. That's why I think IOL will be so huge. Plus if you move Feiler to LG, you have to replace him at RT. We have good depth, but are they starter material in the NFL? Not sure yet.

Free Agents will come down to who they draft. They will need to fill the following slots:

ILB
S
CB
OLB
DT
IOL
T

Maybe bring in a RB also, but we are currently 5 deep with Conner, Samuels, Snell, Whyte, and Edmunds.

Keep in mind also the Steelers have a lot of camp bodies from signing 9 XFLers. That's a lot of people. Someone should stick.

Cope!!!

I cant believe the draft is this coming week! what position do you see as our biggest need?

Right now biggest need is LG. We don't have a starter there. Same as NT, but the Steelers are moving away from that, so not as high. Then depth at S, ILB, EDGE, and WR. Truly a year to go BPA and pick up skill players to help this year. WR may go twice. Looks like we could use size and speed for an edge WR in 4WR sets, and also a true shifty 2nd slot.

Is Miami going to trade up and draft the same guy they probably would have gotten had they just stayed put ??

Who do you think will be the most successful WR from this draft........... I like CeeDee Lamb

Do you think the 1st pick will be from a large program or some smaller program ?

I'd put my money on the power 5.

i am leaning WR if the board falls that way...but would like one as real return threat on kicks/punts....who do you like in that mold

WR wise, I really like Lamb and Higgins. Hope he falls to the Steelers. We could use a tall speedy player for Ben.

I think Miami really wants Tua, and the league knows it. Which means they probably have to move higher to get him. Drafts are fickle, and nothing is wrong with moving up to get the guy you want.

1st pick should be a QB. Burrow should be the first guy off the board, unless the Bungles screw that up...

I love the receivers this year. I think we will draft a 6'4" speed guy for Ben this year. Higgins or Claypool would be ideal.

Also think we may double dip and take a shifty receiver late. Devon Duvernay, KJ Osborn, James Proche, Amari Rogers. Those guys have return potential, but it isn't really a need since DJ made the pro bowl as our returner last season.

OUT here in the boonies we have yet to have a confirmed caSE OF Convid-19. I'm suspect that testing isn't being done. With that said, I am taking precautions very seriously. I get double takes and a stare or two but I still mask up including goggles / gloves / long sleaves / hat and then everything off once home. I do go out for work but ONLY low risk stuff (employees as well).

BLESSINGS go out to all who need it and PLEASE take the time to take care of yourself so you can help others.

QUESTIONS

1) did your wife play the librarian in Major League ?

2) Can you write articles while drinking heavily and spell check / edit while under the influence ?

3) I have a feeling the STEELERS will do very well in this draft, do you share that feeling ?

4) When watching the moon rise to it's peak and then fall to disappear, where does it go and does the cow jump over when its the lowest ?

5) If Dobbins is there at 2.49, do you take him or settle for a pretty good OL (not one of the top 6)

6) Have I asked enough questions ?

Thanks for all your great articles and POD cast(s). PeAce

where you at Slash and Sask ?

QUESTIONS

1) did your wife play the librarian in Major League ? No she's way hotter. My wife that is...

2) Can you write articles while drinking heavily and spell check / edit while under the influence ? Yes, why do you think I'm writing so many articles this week?

3) I have a feeling the STEELERS will do very well in this draft, do you share that feeling ? I do, and I'm going to do an article on it, and it will release on draft day. I'll give you the sneak preview. They will do well because they have had 41 years of drafting consistency. Whereas other teams will fire the GM and Coach the same year. Since 69 the GMs and Coaches have all overlapped. Amazing stuff!

4) When watching the moon rise to it's peak and then fall to disappear, where does it go and does the cow jump over when its the lowest? It goes under the horizon on the other side of the planet, silly. I've never in my life seen a cow jump, but I've seen calves frolic. They are not known for their vertical jumping though...

5) If Dobbins is there at 2.49, do you take him or settle for a pretty good OL (not one of the top 6) I am no longer high at taking RBs. If a stud C is there I strongly consider it, but I think the best value will be WR. Odd right. Another year taking a WR high? Steelers still need a 4th and a true shifty slot, so I would not be surprised.

6) Have I asked enough questions ? NEVER!

Answered above.

I'm telling you, this draft is thick with size and speed. The Steelers are taking someone. I think if Higgins is there, he's the pick. Claypool may not be as much as a grab at 49, but if he's there at the comp in the 3rd and we didn't go WR in 2, he's the guy.

We definately need to address the OL. Do you see one being picked within our first two picks?

Some want a "return specialist" in our high pick WR, I though Deonte Johnson did pretty well. Do you think FO office is looking at return abilities if we take a high pick WR ?

there's an alcohol prohibition in my country since the quarantine started so markets aren't allowed to sell liquor. My bar is already dry, I'm about to start making moonshine, any recipe you want to share?

I'm in Venezuela, you don't want to send here, unless you really hate her.
