If it were me, they are out there playing Sunday. Samuel has pedigree, with Ramsey basically running the secondary, Samuel should see some action-unless he looks like he is cement shoes on. MVS needs to be out there to see if he can help take the top off at least 7-11 plays to help take pressure off of DK. He should’ve been out there last week. Go route, post, flag fade. I’m pretty sure he can handle those simple routes and he’s played with Rodgers before

If the Steelers are counting on significant contributions from either of those two after jumping on the moving train heading towards the Bungles we may as well just start talking draft cuz this season is dead (it’s already on life support so not like they can hurt anything too much)

But sure, keep shifting those deck chairs so the boat looks nice when it goes down

Speaking of when should they insert Howard? I am thinking it should be soon…

Well, your wish might be coming true shortly.
Step one has been completed by activating Howard to the squad
At the rate that Rogers is getting hit, I don’t think he last the season and then we’ll see what the Steelers decide to do.

if they still have an outside chance at a playoff spot, we will see our old friend Mason replace Aaron, if and when needed.
If they completely crap the bed, then I would hope we would get a chance to see what the young man can do.
It’s just getting old trying to find our quarterback for the future.

If they drop Cinncy it may be about time to explore other options….but you and I both know they won’t even explore non Aaron options until they are mathematically eliminated from contention for the Tomlinship

Would be great to have a little read on what ya have in Howard before the draft rolls around, QB is kind of an important position

jesus christ. what is wrong with you people?

we were told previously that when the train has left the station that it's hard to get on a moving train. here we are in week 12 and you people expect vets to learn and understand the nuance intricacies of our highly successful and very detailed offensive and defensive schemes?

that said - even Cowher had to be shoved into a corner in order to play someone off the bench.

It’s just getting old NOT trying to find our QB for the future.

If what they’ve been doing is trying then they need to try harder cuz I’ve seen a tentative, scared and reluctant franchise when it’s coming to trying to replace Ben with that QB of the future. It’s been close to 7-8 years now they should have been trying to find that successor but just a series of bad ideas/moves and non moves so far.

IMO, if they lose the next couple of games, I would consider making that change. I am not knee jerking yet to Rodgers horrible game last week. It happens. However, if he has another game like that this week, Im asking questions.

I think that if they had MVS out there last week and they hit him once or twice for something big (20+ yards) the game is different for the offense. Same this week.

Seeing Roger's face in the last game....he looked like he wanted to quit. He was not happy. His age is showing. I suppose Tomlin will play him until he gets injured. Then we get Rudy. But I'd rather see Howard. Let's see what he can do.

While I'm interested in seeing what Howard has to offer, I don't think he'd fair very well with this OL (Jones mostly) and general crappy offense.

But I suppose an unfair evaluation is better than no evaluation at all.

Assuming he actually catches those passes.

This Bungles game would be an ideal game to do just that.

Tomlin is correct in seeing that there still is a chance of a successful season.

Howard will come when it’s too late, remember Tomlin has to use Red Nose 1st, then possibly a squid game or two for Will.

Obviously, my hope is neither back up gets to play as we are going to the SB. (Then each gets a series or two at the very end with Aaaa-Ron coming in for V-ictory formation.

Salute the nation

Aaron looked like he was scared and didn’t trust his OL hence the hurried throws that were off mark.
He’s got to wondering to himself that he totally screwed up signing with Tomlin’s team. That it’s not what he was promised.
Most likely already knows this is not a playoff team and that he’s just playing this out then he will retire a Packer.
The guy has played better than I thought he would and the Charger game just imploded in on him.
The Charger pass rush was very, very good and put an enormous amount of heat on Aaron forcing mistakes. Couple that with the lack of receiver talent. Taking DK out of the game, refusing to utilize Jaylan Warren only giving him 14 touches, you ain’t going to do anything on offense.
TOP swings heavy to Chargers then your defense wears down, especially one with lots of old guys.
Sorry Aaron! You didn’t deserve to be in our mess!

Samuel had spinal fusion surgery seven months ago. He says he feels better than ever, that he played through pain his whole career, and now it's gone.

God knows that the Steelers need help in the secondary, and this feels a lot different from the past-his-prime veteran template. Asante was really starting to develop into a solid young NFL cornerback in 2023, and he's only 26. Hopefully he comes back strong, and if so, they can sign him for the long term.

Also glad to see that the Steelers finally activated Will Howard. Yes, most likely he's not going to play, but it would have sucked for him to be on IR for the entire season.
