The Steelers cornerbacks have been a mess for years. They struggled to find consistency and high level talent for almost 5 years straight and it has held the team down. Even when the offense was flourishing, the defense was struggling enough to prevent the team from reaching the big game. The Steelers really began looking […]

I have good vibes about the secondary this year. I really like Joe. Now that run defense and the middle of the field on 3rd&long....that's the million dollar question. That and tackling, tackling, tackling and TACKLING! That's the straw that stires the drink..sound fundamentals.

I am less concerned with the corners, and more concerned with the safety position. In particular who will play deep.

I think to be the best that unit can be you hope Davis settles in well to FS.

There's nothing wrong with Davis. He will continue to improve. If Artie gets over his sophomore slump from last year, our secondary should be pretty darn good. He got burned looking in the backfield too much.

We are set at CB -- Hayden, Burns, Sutton, Hilton (and Allen - dump Sensabaugh). I'm really excited about Sutton and feel he would be better than Burns.
I feel good about S. For starters, no Mitchell. Davis, Burnette, Edmunds, Allen (and Berhe - dump Dangerfield).

I just wish we hadn't totally ignored ILB in the draft. That is our weak spot and is going to be our Achilles heel. Maybe Bostic will surprise us all (I'm hoping).

But back to CB. I'm excited. And just think how much improved the CBs would be if the DL and LBs would pressure the QB. It all starts there. Our CBs currently have to cover for 40 seconds while the QB sits cleanly in the pocket.

I still think we will see Edmunds in a hybrid S/ILB role with the standard SS & FS.
