There have been roll backs on financial support and states rolling back marriage rights, not to mention custody and adoption rights.
It's difficult to be part of a group that is actively attacked by the largest religion in this country. A religion that doesn't understand genetics, nor how genes express. If they did, they'd understand that 'sexual conversion therapy' isn't possible. Or at least as successful as sending a criminal to prison for rehabilitation.
In this country it is still legal to openly discriminate against them, and that creates dissent. I have homosexual friends and family. Their struggle is legit.
