A friend of mine here at work just texted me saying there's a deal in the works between the Steelers and Browns to swap Polamalu for Josh Gordon. I don't see the Steelers wanting a head case with a drug problem, and also don't see Polamalu ending his career anywhere but Pittsburgh. I haven't found any sources to back it up, so I have to assume my buddy got it from some wishful-thinking thread on a Browns board or something.

LOL i think that is just your friend and wishful thinking ... LOL

lol ...like that would ever happen

Trade a player that should retire, for a player that should be suspended.

This would be about the dumbest move ever. I'd have to say this is a dumb Cleveburgh hoax.

One of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard.

LOL, this made me laugh like Ray Liotta in Goodfellas. Best laugh I've had in about 5 days, thanks.

Friends don't let friends text drunk.

even at this stage of his career, troy has more games in him than gordon

OK, you all had pretty much the same reaction I did. I just don't follow any of the "insider" sources so I figured if there was any shred of truth to it, someone here would know.

Even without insider information you should have know it wasn't true. The Steelers Organization is not that stupid (although I am sure some think they are) LOL

Troy is either going to retire or play one more year. I imagine if he wants to come back they're going to want him at a discounted price given his cap hit. We all selfishly probably would love to see Troy playing again but his best days are behind him. He's not the young difference maker he once was. I hope Troy retires and becomes a great ambassador for the sport and the team. Its been a privilege to watch Troy Polamalu wear black and gold. Same can be said for Keisel and Harrison. Ike has had a lot of ups and downs but at the end of the day while not as revered as the other 3, he was a starter on a team that won 2 and played in 3 Super Bowls. Will miss him as well.

I could see Troy for Jeff Gordon.

I don't think any team would want Gordon, and for different reasons, Polamalu.

I'm disappointed that deljzc hasn't commented in this thread on how this rumor proves our vitriolic hatred of the Pats.

He IS a Browns fan. I think that's a condition they have to waive intelligence testing for, under the Equal Opportunity Act.

Wr is one of the strongest positions on the team... Troy is likely retiring, and Gordon is suspended for a season... and you know there is no way he will go a solid year without ******* up again... the browns couldn't get a 7th round pick for him... they likely couldn't trade a pick for someone to take him off their hands

I read that Gordon has not gone one single year since he was 17 years old without having a failed drug test. Not....one.

He's probably not sure why we're even discussing Gordon, being that he's not a Steeler and all. Also, maybe it was the weather that made Gordon drunk. Or I'm sure there's some other super science idea out there that explains why he failed his test.

About as for out there as some of the stuff used in the sixties,............... The original poster should have reconized a fluff. Troy will retire a STEELERS player. No question about it. To see a such a legend player of this franchise, go to rest as another team player, the Chief would roll over. Friends don't let friends drive drunk, REAL friends don't let REAL friends mess with lengends of the team.

Salute the nation

I would be embarrassed to post that 1% of my brain believed this for one second.

So your cleveland friend thought this was real? Is he looking for an investment opportunity? Im marketing this new product: powdered water, you just add water! ITS BRILLIANT!
