Anybody fired yet?

Monday came and went with no changes. Canaduh will be here at least until the end of the year. As KP said, insanity. I guess Tomlin is hanging onto his one trick play that scored the TD. I believe they practice today and tomorrow and then take off until next week so any coaching changes would have had to have happened by now.
 
Sad to see a franchise so committed to losing...the fact that Canada hasn't been fired speaks volumes
Change can be good, can light a fire under lazy players, put other coaches on notice to be better...Ex: Phillies fire a HOF mgr, now in the WS!
Canada has had many chances to get better, clearly doesn't understand that

This "We don't fire coaches or make changes just because its the Steeler way" is getting real boring and old!
Proof is in 8-8, 9-7 seasons, 3 PO wins, and now 2-6
This team should be easily be 6-2, 5-3

Ultimately, I blame AR2 for letting this get to this point. They are so enamored with their woke progressive push for minority hires that they have trapped themselves into a position of holding leaders within their organization unaccountable for the sake of 'wokeness'. They even have a minority leader on board now that they could name on an interim basis (Flores) but won't pull the trigger on that.

We could fire Tomlin --- hire Sean Peyton -- and he could assemble a team of coaches with his connections and put together a staff in two weeks that is better than what we have currently.

I will admit not knowing what Flores would bring as a HC, but if he's all that, why isn't he still in Miami?
 
Everyone wants Canada booted(so do I), but why is Austin getting a pass? Nearly crickets regarding him and the Swiss Cheese defense. We have a highly paid D and they are getting torched down the middle, over the top and everywhere in-between. Yea, Watt is due to come back, but they have stunk as bad as the offense.

He got the boot because Reich is on the hot seat and feels pressure to win games. Tomlin got a nice contract extension to carry him through a QB transition, which was fine on the surface. The issue is he hired a terrible OC and his team still can’t stop the run on defense, still has a bad offensive line, and still can’t score points. These are issues that have been around for several seasons and they aren’t getting fixed.

Austin was another bad hire. He was fine as a secondary coach/defensive assistant. He has a poor track record and we see that anytime the Steelers face a legit QB.

It was the safe and easy hire, plus TA is HCMT's buddy. We continue plugging important positions with guys with questionable resumes.

Butler from LB coach to DC didn't work either. The "promote from within" strategy has an abysmal record within this organization. Anyone named Rooney or Tomlin ever been told the (clichéd) definition of insanity?

And who is the architect of this wonderful Steelers team?
Tomlin is instrumental in player draft and Fraser agency and as you say, he hired these coordinators. Canada is his baby!
Steelers always say they are never rebuilding. They are in it to win it! Yeah right!

I think if you fire Tomlin at this juncture you have to hire within as an interim HC. Then if things don't work out go back to the drawing board next Feb.

i'd be ok with Flores as the interim. Let him interview for the HC position, but do a thorough search. If Andy Reid and Bill Belichick can get canned, so can Tomlin.

Everyone knows Tomlin runs the D so Austin is just another scapegoat like everyone since LeBeau left. Flores helped some but it's still Tomlin's D.

He's only helping the LB's. He's not calling or running the D. The D is still Tomlin's with Austin being the scapegoat under Tomlin. Flores may consult with the two but he isn't running anything. If he is, then he needs fired with Austin and Tomlin.

I think he is just doing linebackers. I think Austin is calling the D he sure looks like it on the field.
