IMHO...he is better suited for long term success in the NFL than the 3 top backs coming out this year..

And BTW--he was a 2nd round pick last year, that some had 1st round grades on him.

That means you have 1 - 2 years less control of his contract than if you take one of the top 3 this year. Definitely decreases his value in terms of what they should be willing to give up for him.

Agreed---1 year less.
Not a deal breaker.
 
If Harris is there, bring him in and keep him for 5 years. Then let someone else give him a big contract at age 29 (old for a RB). Good business decision as well as getting potentially the best RB in the draft.

Yeah, I’d just take Javonte Williams in the second if that’s what they want or Elijah Mitchell in the 4th. They won’t get what they used to draft him. I could see a 3rd but likely not.

Seems about right. Another idea would be to wait and see who is available at 1.24 and if Green Bay is interested in swapping 1st round picks plus our 3rd.

Swapping picks in the first I read with Gb gets us a 4th and 6th, so with the Rb it could be straight up, I’d take Harris if he was there get ok center in the 2nd

True, and we can accept that. But, it also doesn't mean Fields will flop.
Also, like I said in another thread, why the hate on Fields for past tOSU QBs and none for Jones in regards to past 'Bama QBs? You could replace "Ohio State" with "Alabama" in your statement and the answer would be the same. None.
 
I didn’t realize fields was a transfer... that makes him way more appealing.... I feel like teams that tend to develop a position that doesn’t translate to the pros well can be offset by having a fundamental base from a different school... he will go between 10-20 in a worse case scenario so he won’t fall to us...

He transferred from Georgia. Who, other than Stafford, have produced exactly zero NFL starting caliber QBs in the last 50 years. I guess one is better than none ... but it ain't a ringing endorsement either.

It's just a mock, but Albright has some very good connections. Way too many dots connecting Harris to the Steelers and it seems like a near certainty if he's there he'll be the pick. If not, it's the best smokescreen the Steelers have every put out because they really haven't hid their love for him.

Drink, obviously Coach is avoiding the board, “as there are better ones out there”. Plus, he knows He’s going to get drilled for the BS he spews for attention. Maybe the mods can ban him for the live draft thread.

He wasn't a starting QB at tOSU AND he hasn't really proven himself at the NFL level yet. Might be good. Might be great. Might have a **** second year and never bounce back. Let's not crown Little Joe just yet.
