He has had his moments but he just isn't a starting cornerback. His tackling is below the line and he just isn't athletic enough. He was playing against no name receivers today and was still toastedm I cant understand how they don't at least give Boykin some looks.

It's completely baffling at this point.

As I griped in the game thread, Blake's only qualification seems to be that he's been on the team longer than Boykin. He can't cover and he can't tackle, especially with a cast on his hand. I was pretty disgusted to see him back out there starting the second half.

You all do realize that Cockrell would be the one to take Blake's place right? Says so right on the depth chart ... and the fact that he took over for Blake while Blake was getting the concussion tests done during today's game.

To me Cockrell is a starter already. We run 3 CBs almost every down anyway. Boykin played while Blake was out and made the tackle to hold them on third down and goal.

I see where you're coming from ... and I agree

Blake has never been anything more than a No. 4 cornerback and special teamer. Not sure what our coaching staff sees in him to think otherwise.

I was hoping that he never came back in the game..

Blake is a good backup. I like the attitude he has, but he's just too limited skill wise. He's been the weak link on the defense this year

No corner is any good after Gay. The only reason Cockrell's shortcomings have not been exposed more, is because Blake is so damn easy to expose.

Blake was craptastic as usual. Nothing surprises me with the coaching decisions any more. Why not give Boykin some more reps? He's a young player with some upsides and you won't know what you have in a young player like that without some consisted playing time. Surely can't be much worse than Blake.

Cockrell has been decent. Maybe not shut down material. But he has been an improvement over Blake

I still want to see Boykin however. Wtf?!!!

He can't stay out there on a regular basis for the rest of the season like this. Nope

I have no idea why Blake is playing while Boykin rides the bench.

It just doesn't make any sense at this point.

They traded for Boykin for a reason, right?

Tomlin's got a gut.

well while he is feeding it, he needs to feed the D with a few tweaks....

today was the worst performance by the D on the year

yeah, they **** the bed in the 2nd half. Missed Tuitt today for sure.

I also factored in the Chiefs being down their WR and RB

but no worries the O shared equal blame in the loss along with shotty /****** coaching

Boykin played today. Had same stat line as Blake. We better do something because the receivers coming at us from Cincy will be a better group than we have seen all year!

Which is sad considering that boykins impact was greater in that he made a nice open field tackle on 3rd down to force KC for a field goal while only playing a handful of snaps today. Blake is a bum. It used to be that he would allow catches but was a pretty decent but violent tackler. Now, he can't cover and he can't tackle. Sure, he might pop someone here or there but is that really worth a spot on the team? I don't even know if I'd say he's a good back up. He is nothing more than a gunner on the punt team and considering his inability to tackle, I don't think he'd be any good at that either. Boykin needs to be on the field. And I don't wanna hear this he must not be any good during the weeks practices because we need results on Sunday's and it's clear Blake is incapable of providing us with that.

Boykin needs a chance. If he fails, he will just join the line....... He will be better than whats been feilded to this piont. Just a gut......

Salute the nation

The deal with the draft pick is if he plays 60% of the snaps this season, the Eagles get a 4th round pick otherwise they get a 5th round. Tomlin's just holding him back for the sake of the pick before Unleashing The Hell!!!!! Y'know, he's using his "gut feeling" on this....

Will Gay being hurt might leave them no choice but to play Boykin. He will be the nickel back.

To beat a dead horse Tomlin is at fault. Blake should not be starting. And why didn't we pay more attention to their main weapon, the Tight end? Coaching decisions let us down. Tomlin coached teams lose too often to sub .500 teams
