So, a few years back, there was a **** ton of pissing and moaning about how Wallace should have been kept, because he was the only guy with the speed needed to make the big plays.

AB - 71 receptions for 996 yards
Mike Wallace- 35 receptions for 468 yards.

I for one am VERY pleased AB signed Mikes deal. Hey, at least it's warm in Florida though, right Mike?

Joe

He's not as fast as Wallace but hes got better vision and hes elusive and the ************ is just a baller. Folks might not like his on the field antics but Antonio makes his **** count with productivity. If he keeps doin what he's doin every week, he can dance, bobble, gyrate, bunny-hop or dry-grind the goal post support padding. He's shown hes worth every dime they paid him and these are his prime years. His next contract.............well....we will see......

Was watching NFL redzone yesterday and Wallace had a chance to make a 1 handed catch in the endzone and dropped it. I was never a Wallace fan anyways but there is no doubt if AB had the chance that would have been a TD.

AB has way better hands. Not even close.

AB may not have the 40 time that Wallace does but his quickness and acceleration are unreal. He makes defenders look like they are standing still. Right now, you have to put him in the top 3 in the league.

My problem with Wallace leaving was about the way they worked together as different types of players. To that point Antonio Brown wasn't finding the end zone either himself. It was a legitimate argument. Thinking Wallace is going to put up numbers there with that supporting cast compared to what he had here is laughable too. It all worked out fine for us, but he was a damn good player here considering where we got him. Just because he left doesn't make him ****, he went where the money was. He won't be the last one to do it.

I think he also went where his heart was as well. If I recall correctly Florida is his home state, and he might now be on his favorite team from his youth. He could also be near his family and friends all of which has a strong attraction for some folks. I don't dislike Wallace but he is not nearly the complete player that Antonio Brown is. I hope we manage to Keep Antonio for his entire time in the nfl as he is likely as important to the team as Ward was.

Oh, Brown is definitely a better all around receiver. I just don't have automatic hate for players, forget what they did here or rewrite it because they go somewhere else. For others to do so is their prerogative, it's just not my thing. They better pay Antonio Brown whenever it's his turn. He is a lot better than I ever thought he would end up.

Wallace gold bricked his last year hear hoping for the big payday he got. THAT is what I had little tolerance for, you could see him alligator arming catches. But, whatever, dude his not here now, and with the exception of Justin Brown, there isn't a wr on our team that I'd trade even up to get him back.

Joe

I'm thinking in a few years Brown might be a decent WR......

Right now - he's the best WR in the league...

No comments on Walalce, that ship has sailed. Brown has worked very hard to get to where he is and deserves his spot as one of the best receivers in the league.

I love his work ethic /top notch

Well, he's no Limas Sweed.

watch the move Brown puts on the CB at the LOS, just nasty!!

Wallace, Sanders, Keenan and Antonio were all the Young Money Crew, correct?

I know I'll get called out if I'm wrong, but seems to me 3 of the 4 were just simply not wanted while one was given another shot at remaining a Steeler. I just think there was more behind the scenes than what us fans were aware of.

I remember it differently. When Wallace left for "greener" pastures, I seem to recall most on this board being mostly indifferent. Nobody thought he was worth what he wanted.

Not me, I preferred Brown to Wallace and was afraid they'd lose him and lock Wallace up. Very pleased the way things worked out.

That's what I remember as well. I don't remember anyone wanting to keep Wallace after he turned down the Steeler offer. He was accused all year of mailing it in to keep from getting hurt.

I knew I didn't care much if Wallace left but I don't think any of us knew what we had in AB.

One thing for sure we can all sit back and laugh now.

This. Wallace leaving wasn't a shock and it certainly didn't leave me feeling distraught. AB has turned into a beast and I give credit to the scouts for seeing the talent and coaches for developing it. He's been a great surprise and if he sticks to this type of production, we may see him pass Hines Ward someday. (Although, Hines will always be my favorite WR)

The young money crew was just the WR's. Ward was the elder statesman, the rest made up the "crew"

Correct, most of the board tho was pretty convinced that Brown wouldn't be able to succeed without Wallace pulling coverage away and didn't know how we were going to replace Wallace speed, because we HAD to replace it!!!!!!!! Brown has proven everyone wrong, and keeps getting better.

It's very warm here though we had what they call a cold front, they don't know what cold is! Everyone starts wearing earmuffs and leather jackets at 65 degrees ridiculous!

Antonio Brown is the MAN! :) Woohoo. Glad we got him. Yea remember when they drafted Big Ben everyone was like who?
