The run on coordinators happens as soon as the head coach carousel slows down. Even teams that exceeded expectations like the Bears and Ravens have made moves. Pagano, Wilks and Williams will all have jobs by the end of the weekend. Meanwhile the Steelers have solved all their coaching problems after extensively looking at themselves and realizing that it was really Joey Porter and James Saxon that were the problem. **** off Mike Tomlin.

Everybody wants coaching changes. Great. The truth is will it make it any better? Or just make us feel better at this point?
I read somewhere that there was a comparison of the Steeler coaching staff and other staffs, and the statement was there is not a lot of teaching going on in Pittsburgh. If that is truly the case, it comes from the top, and it really doesn't matter who is hired or fired or whatever. At least as it pertains to assistants.
I've defended Tomlin to some degree...not for his on the field mistakes but when it comes to the issue of locker room and team control. I think there is too much there we don't know and can't know. But stuff like the above is fair game, and if true he should be gone. It is almost a hopeless feeling being a fan of this team for the foreseeable future.

Are Special Teams coaches a dime a dozen or are they actually Special?????? Ranked 29th and no new coach yet.........Weather you have a replacement lined up or not you still fire Danny because there is a special teams coach out there just waiting for your call. Football 101 but in our case we have to turn over every stone then go back to the "LAB:" and quantify the results.

The absolute ceiling for this team next year is one and done in the playoffs. Good to know mediocrity is the new goal.
I don't know, maybe its just me, but I mistakenly thought this was a business of results. Now I know exactly where the ultimate blame lies. With the HC. That appears to be a complete no go from the moment he scheduled his end of year presser. HOWEVER, I mistakenly believed there would at least be several changes on the coaching staff. The defense blew leads or surrendered last minute game losing drives or both to Cleveland, Los Angeles, Oakland and New Orleans. They made almost zero impact plays to win games in the final 6 games save the Pats win which was a good performance. The following players are first or second round players on the defense.
Burns, Edmunds, Davis, Watt, Dupree, Haden, Tuitt, Heyward, Bostic- Hargrave is a third Williams is the lone low draft pick starter on the defense as a 6th. Is that results? I don't want change for change sake, but I think change is pretty obviously in order.

Did the Steelers offense improve when they went from Arians to Haley? How about from Haley to Fichtner? Did the offensive line improve when they hired Munchak?
Did the eagles improve when they got rid of chip Kelly, and hired Doug Peterson? Yes
Have they won anything? Isn't that how we judge things around here?

Hire a new coach and our chances increase . If NOT then we know where we will be at end of season next year........................

Too many hands in the D. Tomlin calls the D from what I read. Sets up the game plan. So many intertwined coaches it is no wonder the players look often confused out there. And the approach they take when preparing to play the cheats seems like it would greatly benefit the team if they treated every game on their schedule likewise. But clearly they don't. Like I said in one thread we are stuck in the movie Groundhog day. With no end in sight.

Since you dodged the question, yes, they improved in all three instances. Improving a team gives you a better chance at winning because we've seen this defense hasn't maxed it's potential given what they've invested.
The offense improves with coaching changes, but the defense continues to struggle, hmm the side of the ball Tomlin has a ton of input in struggles every year, the side of the ball he stays away from responds to coaching changes.

And no relief in sight. Because they aren't football smart enough to realize what they are doing won't work. And will always be exposed when it matters.
