By G.Stryker Dionte Johnson is a quick twitch receiver from the University of Toledo. *He only played 3 years and is being drafted as a Junior. His sophomore year was his most productive, grabbing 13 touchdowns on 74 receptions with 1279 yards. *Last year his numbers were not as substantial scoring 8 touchdowns on 49 […]

One of the things he does best is beating press coverage at the line of scrimmage. He uses a combination of hand checks and quick feet, with different moves to get open quickly

I think this is what will help him be productive.

Juju will need to stay after hitting those juggs and put that extra work in, and bring the rookies with him...........

He was really interesting to break down. There are a lot of intangibles and things he does naturally, that are very difficult for WRs to understand and master.
It's not as cut and dry with most of my breakdowns. The stuff he does bad, can hopefully be corrected. The stuff he does well can translate to him consistently getting open, faster than most players.

I think his biggest issue with drops last season Cope was playing with 3 different QBs and concentration. From the clips I've watched, he looks like a pretty natural hands catcher.

Nice write up.

The only thing that bothers me with his hands is he catches the ball with one hand while the backside of his other hand is facing the ball. Also doing over under hand tech of pinkie to thumb placement, just makes it harder for him to catch the football. I think it's correctable, but he's making the catches more difficult than they need to be.

GREAT write up Cope and thank you as these help simpletons such as myself.......................

Looking forward to is developement and contributions with the team. Antonio-------who????

He's come to the best WR factory in the world - this kid is gonna be special...

To put it into context, I loved JuJu's tape. Great hand positioning, and I was geeked about him being on the team.

Washington, after seeing his tape, I called him a boom or bust receiver, so I wasn't as confident in his tape.

With DJ, I like him more than Washington, but not nearly as much as I liked JuJu. We'll see how he translates to the pros.

And Slash, I like those cutups of his plays on the twitter link. Still shows he has trouble getting 2 hands on the ball correctly, but it also shows a few moves at the LOS that he uses to roast defenders. I think he gets off of presses better than any receiver I've seen in college. AB became that receiver in the pros, so hopefully it translates.
