So, I just listened to an audio feed (I don't know how old it is,) of you dressing down Jerome Bettis for calling the **'s "known felons". It was on a first take segment. While you offhandedly admit that the **'s did cheat with the whole spygate thing, You became quite passionate in your description of the **'s success since they were discovered using unauthorized camera's in spygate scandal. You demand (the emphasis is mine, but based on the verve of your segment, I think it's appropriate,) that people respect the accomplishments of the **'s since they "whooped folks butt".

You suggest other teams don't have T*m Br*dy, they don't have C**ch H**d**. They don't have Rob Gronkowski. All this is true. However during your long and no doubt well-rehearsed speech you don't allow Bettis or anyone else to respond. Well, allow me a moment of your time that I might ask a couple of questions that are pertinent to the "known felon" situation.

Why? Why were the **'s using unauthorized cameras? What was the competitive advantage they were hoping to achieve? What exactly was SO damning on the confiscated tapes the commissioner Goodell felt he had to literally DESTROY them so no other team could ever exploit the competitive advantages that were therein outlined?

Who? Who is Ernie Adams? What is his official capacity with the team? What are his responsibilities in particular?

What? What happened to the other half of the complaint made by (then) Jet's coach Eric Mangini. Specifically the complaints about radio signal and equipment interference. Why was this not investigated and reported on with equal tenacity?

Let me explain to you and (once again) anybody else who cares to pay attention to what the **'s REALLY did with those unauthorized cameras and WHY commissioner Goodell needed to destroy all the evidence as quickly as he could.

The **'s like most teams keep film of the plays on the field as they develop. They also keep film of the scoreboard display showing game situation. This allows them (like all teams) to sync up the play on the field with the specific game situation.

Now, the additional "unauthorized camera" was used to capture hand signals and any other communication from the opponents sideline during the game. This information is illegal. With all three of these three pieces of information a highly analytical team could put together a master game film that broke down each play, showed the specific game situation and included any voice signals and/or hand signals from the sideline.

With THAT information an offensive OR defensive coordinator could decipher specific vocal or hand signals given enough information.

Now, let's consider Mangini's "lost" radio signal complaint. What if the **'s were also stealing audio signals in to the QB's? What if THOSE signals were also being recorded and included in that master tape?

What if those tapes were saved over several years, refined until all the signals, vocal and gestural were known for a given team and could be interpreted by somebody who knew them?

Then you'd need somebody who could learn that information. Someone who could process all that mass of data and quickly access it as the signals were passed over the headset to the QB or on the field with hand gestures or from the coordinators mouth.

But who could do that? Who could remember the play-calling language and parlance of 31 other teams in the league? Even if a team had taken the time, years really to amass that kind of data and break down the plays to learn what each signal meant, who was blitzing, who was going into zone coverage. Was it going to be a run play, would it be a pass? To whom?

Were you aware, Stephen, that Ernie Adams has a photographic memory? I imagine not. It's one of the unique things about him. He's the kind of guy who can memorize massive amounts of information quickly, and retrieve it instantly, even during a live game. He could, for example hear a playcall over a stolen audio signal and then call down to a defensive or offensive coordinator and tell him what the other team was planning to do.

That coordinator could in turn tell his QB or defensive captain what play to run to best counter the opposing teams plan. Of course the players still have to execute. It doesn't guarantee results, it merely increases your odds immensely.

And if Commissioner Goodell saw a tape with all that information on it, you can bet he'd destroy it immediately because he would know exactly what it meant. He'd tell his good friend Bob Kraft to knock it off, get rid of the evidence and stop the taping. He'd fine the coach, take away a couple of draft picks and make a big show of it. And then it would all be over. Nobody would really know what had really happened.

Except that in the NFL, coaching trees are pretty vertical. The language doesn't change much and it takes a long time for it to filter down. And most importantly, the **'s still bring more radio equipment to games than any other team in the NFL.

So ya. They're known felons.

Get off your high horse. They don't deserve any more respect than any other guy got caught cheating.

Stephan A, is and always will be a joke.

Thanks Wig. You be da man, man.

you forgot to sign your letter

He only has a job to fill a quota

I was listening to something on the radio today about Deflategate and Bob Kraft and 2 other owners basically decide annually how much Roger Goodell will make as far as income on an annual basis. Now I ask you how can Goodell render a fair suspension verdict on Tom Brady?

Goodell is the worst commish in sports....the Pats were cheating and he saw it in the video and thought to himself the ramifications if word got out that the NFL teams were cheating to gain an advantage would have destroyed the popularity of the game and set the NFL back 20 years when it comes to revenue. Goodell destroyed the tapes and said "Nothing to see here...just move along", despite evidence being overwhelming the Pats were doing something to gain an unfair advantage....just ask the Steelers about the 2004 AFCCG when Hines said in the post game the Pats were changing on the fly to Ben's audible calls and they had every call correct. NOT POSSIBLE SORRY! The Steelers wrecked them in the 2004 regular season and we would have wrecked them again but there was Spygate!

I'll be surprised if anything happens to Brady but in the least he knew about it....the Wells Report shows it....I can't believe some of the texts from that. He should be suspended a minimum of 4 games....MINIMUM of 4 Games! He cheated!

Quite frankly I would wager a good amount of coin that Stephen A's mouth gets him suspended again. I wish he was a Ravens fan.

On July 25, 2014, Smith made controversial remarks that women may provoke domestic abuse on ESPN2's show ESPN First Take, in regards to the ongoing situation involving Baltimore Ravens' running back Ray Rice and his wife. After criticism of the remarks, including comments on Twitter from ESPN reporter Michelle Beadle, Smith apologized for his words on a taped segment on ESPN. On July 29, 2014, Smith was suspended by ESPN for a week and did not appear on any of their programs again until August 6, 2014.

Believe it or not, there was a time I thought SAS was quality.

Like Kieth Olbermann before him -- he's taken himself too seriously and acts like his views are higher and mightier than those of others. On the rare occasion I am home to watch ESPN during the day and I leave on First Take (why I do it don't ask) I invariably want to throw a bowling ball at the TV listening to them ramble. I'd lose it if I had to listen to them everyday.

Actually something similar was brought up in a discussion between police officers and the women that were sent in to train us regarding the new domestic violence law which like many knee jerk laws was poorly thought out and over reaching.

The group is a room full of uniformed police officers most of which have many years of experience. The presenters are two women that must be man haters who firmly believe that at no time could the man be innocent of anything even if he was threatened with a weapon.

The opening statement went something like this.....Every 2 minutes (or some similar time unit) a woman in the united states is beaten...... From the back of the room Every two minutes a woman doesn't know when to shut the **** up......things went down hill from there.

I am not infavor of guys beating up women but think the rules change when a woman attacks a man she is likely to be subject to a like kind of retaliation. I have seen both sides of this so having the law make an arbitrary decision is stupid. In defense of the guys position above I would have to agree that some women do bring abuse on themselves.

I can not stand Kieth overbite at all, it would be a toss up between watching all the pats games with commentary by Belicheat and Brady or listening to kieth overbite.
