Alright…which one of you pissed off ryan clark?

Hold on playa....Ben is "Cowhers guy". Although he "may" have started to ascend to greater heights under the Tomlin era, you cant count that under Tomlin....see...ya just cant......ya just cant do that....Cowhers man...Get it ?

My bad I temporarily lost my mind. Don't know what I was thinking

Ben went backwards for several years under Tomlin. Bens play in 05 might have been the best of his career if you go back and watch those games he hasn't come close to that until this season

Could of swore Ben had a career year last year but maybe not

Look there are many positives on this team. But damn we are talking about Tomlin and the string of games we have seen over the last couple years that leave us home kicking the dog. Stupid **** in the games. I also think if he could get a decent DB to stick.. since he's been here it would help his case as a talent evaluator. BUT maybe that's on lebeau and lake just as much. I don't know.

All I know is we lose games we should win and I see a lot of poor decisions on the sideline. I really don't think its racial that we keep him. Like Superdave said, the steelers just don't fire coaches on a whim.

Arians~ I called for his head,, I remember the deep drop back passes with no o line. Bringing in Haley was probably the best thing for ben, and this offense. Kudos to Arians for parlaying it into A HC position and being successful.

I hated Arians. I still stop sometimes and think really? How the ****? As for Ben being Cowher's guy, I wasnt sold on that either. Maddox was Cowher's guy. I remember having all my steelers **** in a box because I was sure Cowher was going to trade up for Rivers. The Raiders selected Gallery, I started to breathe. When Ben's name was called I fell on the floor with exhaustion and relief. I possibly cried.

Felt the exact same way about Arians (hated him) and Ben's pick. When Ben was selected (btw - I had him as my 1st rounder in the SN poll that year), the elation I felt was indescribable. Those were some loooooong years of suffering watching Korky starting all those games.

Who remembers the Jim Miller and Mike Tomczak days? The key to those teams is that the defense stifled our opponents so a high scoring offense was not really necessary. Just needed someone who wouldn't hurt us (ex: O' Donnell--except for that one big game against Dallas)

I dont hate Kordell like most Steeler fans. Maybe because I watched him at Colorado up close. I loved that whole CU team except Rae Carruth after he turned out to be a sick murdering ****. Maddox pissed me off and I hated him more than most steeler fans. I remember Tomczak days well. Overall I never understood all the Ben hate. I always chalked that up to folks who werent alive in the 80s.

Those 80s teams do give you an appreciation for at least average play. :)

LMAO @jmm absolutely!!!! When we drafted Ben, I hugged my daughter and told her "You wont have to suffer like Mommy. Say hello to your new Steelers.". She still remembers that day and still thinks Im crazy, lol.

Please... My first game in Pittsburgh was the home opener at Three Rivers in 2000 against Baltimore featuring Kent Graham. Holy crap what a bad QB.

This is just something that boggles my mind. Antonio Brown developed, Kelvin Beachum developed, Lawrence Timmons developed, Cameron Heyward developed, David Decastro developed, Maurkice Pouncy developed, Tuitt is developing, Shazier is developing, Sean Spence came back from a DEVASTATING injury and has developed, Vince Williams has developed, Marcus Wheaton has shown signs...we have all these players that were drafted that ARE or HAVE developed, but the line still gets thrown out there as if no team has any draft failures.

Mmmkay, but I can counter with Woodley, J. Jones, L. Jones, Sweed, Anthony Smith, Ziggy, Thomas, Adams, every LB except Timmons, and every DB except Willie Gay.

Sir you can have your Kent Graham, but I'll top that with a David Woodley. :)

Probably me. I called him all kinds of ***** when he was slobbering all over Ray Lewis' dong.

C'mon! RC wasn't a bad player!

But I know what you mean. They gave the Ravens waaaay too much respect. The Steelers need players with Lambert/Lloyd/Porter type attitude. Just be like "screw those guys in the other locker room, we're gonna kick their ***"

I think we are the only forum fanbase that debates this bullshit..........REPEATEDLY. Ad ****** up Naseum

Fear not my fine friend I've seen this argument on countless other Steelers forums. Tomlin vs Cowher. Cowher's players. Tomlin sucks. Etc etc.

Sports fans can be funny. People get so upset when players buddy up with players from "hated" rivals. The simple fact of the matter is that Ryan Clark has more in common with Ed Reed or Terrell Suggs than he does with Steeler fans on message boards.

I was ok with the hire but really thought that Wiz was the better candidate for this job. I really do think that The Rooney Rule played a part in the hiring and if you don't think so that's your opinion but what better way to pave the road for minority hiring in the NFL but to lead by example. If Tomlin had been white he would never had been hired. I think that Tomlin started out well enough but we do have to ask ourselves was a large portion of that do to a Steeler team that was loaded with talent who had largely under achieved the prior season under Cowher.

I think that Tomin has digressed as coach and his talent evaluation of players borders on incompetent and his refusal to admit he made mistakes with some of these high draft picks is alarming. He's become extremely arrogant and I get the sense that its his way or the highway when he deals with his assistant coaches. I think he overrules Haley by going with his gut instinct far to many times and his behavior on the field at times is bewildering. From the dear in the headlights look to stepping on the filed in Baltimore and impeding Jacoby Jones' run back a couple years ago. I don't like this guy representing this football team and it has absolutely nothing to do with the color of his skin. It has to do with all of the other stuff mentioned,

And truth be told Ben has developed. He wasn't doing all the things he is doing now in 2006. The offense has evolved from a run first to one of the most prolific in the league. But that's not Xs and Os??

You're absolutely right, but you can't deny MT does a poor job on the sidelines making adjustments and his clock/game management is extremely questionable week in and out for a head coach. He is oft out coached by opposing coaches too.

My issue with clark is his stanning like a 14 yo girl over Lewis and the Ravens in PO season when he was still in the BnG. You would never see that from Troy, Bettis, Ward, Harrison, Heath, Ben, The Beard, Kreider, whomever.

I find him to obnoxious on Twitter and on TV. Just not a fan. Once was, I own the jersey. Only one of the few I purchased after 36 retired. He just turned me off.

if one thinks these guys arent friends and train, socialize and hange out across teams would be silly. They are part of an elite circle their entire lives and the circle isnt that big. I get that. But you cant nut slob the rival without expecting some blow back from the fans, especially the locals.

Remember, Pittsburgh is a drinking town with a football problem.

I do not necessarily disagree, but socially lounging around the opponents lockeroom directly following a key divisional game crosses some lines, IMO.

I'm sure there were more than a few Steelers, especially among the coaches, who were not thrilled about Clark's post game behavior in Baltimore in 2012.

There's nothing wrong with being friends with opposing professional athletes, but there's a time and place for that **** in the context of competition.

Isnt the competition on the field ? I can be fine with players going at each others throats during the heat of competition...after the last whistle blows, why give a **** if they shake hands, hug, embrace, have dinner or play Madden at Suggs crib the next hour afterwards ? The Game is THE game. Some of these guys work out with one another in the offseason, some have the same agent.
