AI gives all-time best team under Cowher.

Yeah, id fix this by:

Replacing AB with Yancey Thigpen

Replacing Leveon Bell with Fast willie Parker or maybe Barry foster…

Replacing Decastro with Duval love. either Will Wolford or Wayne Gandy might work too… (damn shame hasselrig went batshit crazy)

Replacing Colon,( who was only under cowher for one season as a guard, not a tackle) with Leaon Searcy or John Jackson.

Also I would replace one of the three Olbs with James Farrior, a true Ilb to go with Kirkland … ill let you all decide who… because frankly they are all crazy mfrs and i don’t want any of them feeling slighted 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Worse is the author who didn't pick up on some of these mistakes.

I'd go with...

QB: Ben Roethlisberger
RB: Jerome Bettis
FB: Tim Lester (Dan Kreider if I wanted a pure blocker)
TE: Heath Miller
LT: John Jackson
LG: Alan Faneca
C: Dermontti Dawson
RG: Kendall Simmons
RT: Leon Searcy
WR: Hines Ward
WR: Plaxico Burress

DE: Aaron Smith
NT: Casey Hampton
DE: Ray Seals
LOLB: Joey Porter (I am going to cheat here and move him from ROLB to LOLB)
ILB: Chad Brown
ILB: James Farrior
ROLB: Greg Lloyd
CB: Rod Woodson
CB: Ike Taylor
FS: Carnell Lake (I'm cheating here as well. If Lake can play CB, he can play FS)
SS: Troy Polamalu

Id definitely stick with Kirkland over Brown at ILB … i mean assuming the rules were era specific too… next to Farrior he was the best Ilb of the post 70’s steelers…

That reminds me, Thigpen is chronically underrated because his career was wrecked by an ankle injury… but in his heyday he had two years that still remains among the finest Wr performances in Steelers history…

That's fair and hard to argue against it.

If I was sticking purely to position, I'd go Darren Perry at FS and Jason Gildon at LOLB.

How did we not win a SB in the 90's.
Dumb question I suppose. NO had a lot to do with it.

Well how about that, Neil O'Donnell's initials are NO.
Questions before and after the game. lol

Will the Steelers beat Dallas in the Super Bowl? NO.
Did the Steelers win a SB during the 90's? NO.

Steelers and Cowher don't win a superbowl without Fast Willie. People like to forget how great he was.

I keep trying to rank FWP and it’s hard… in the Super Bowl era Franco is hands down #1, Then Bettis. After that it gets murky. Id want to put FWP third, but it really probably should be Bell. Bell had almost the same yards rushing and same ypa in one less season than FWP, while having a bigger workload and adding 2600 receiving yards too. There is also a legit case that Foster should be in the mix for that third spot, since he didn’t play with a future HOF QB and the offense really did center on him completely…and he still holds the steelers single season rushing record…

But FWP is a top 5 steelers RB in the Super Bowl era and probably top 6 all time, which is pretty damn good

No disrespect to Harris or Bettis but Bell averaged the highest scrimmage yards per game in the history of the runningback position (129)
Bell is in a class of his own statistically and during Parkers short 3 year run had him winning 2 superbowls and leading the league in rushing over the likes of Ladanian Tomlinson. He did alot of the heavy lifting with a young Ben at QB.
