Adam Thielen signed off waivers

People would be bitching if we hadn’t picked him up as well.
3/4 of the season is in the books. Last season we didn't have a #2 WR and traded for Williams and he barely played. This year we sign Thielen from waivers. Probably barely plays if at all. It isn't like we are going to open up our offense now. Our scheme and philosophy are the issue on offense....and defense(but that is a different bitching point).

They just want to see what he looks like in black and gold. They may cut him after the photo shoot.

I don't disagree with that. I am just pointing out that no matter what someone was going to ***** if we did or didn't sign him regardless of the eventual outcome.

i’m in favor of the signing. It puts a veteran receiver in the room that understands the nuances and the preparation needed to be successful on the field. Especially with another veteran in the quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. Those two might possibly mesh.
What’s the latest on MVS?
There has to be a handful of plays in the playbook that he could help us out with. I mean, come on really!

other teams get younger and faster.
we get older, slower and ***** about QBs being mean.

MVS is waiting on Ike Taylor to return his hands.

Honestly, I feel bad for Adam Thielen. He wanted to go to a contender, but guess you snatched him off the wire? Yup....a serious contender. Thielen is mid-thirties, so not quite matching the other 'senior citizen', but this is it for his career.

This is truly pathetic.
Being a fan for over 45 years, I have NEVER experienced this level of ineptness and incompetence, with absolutely no direction nor vision.
And I remember the late 80s and late 90s teams vividly.
Since Noll became coach, any "down" period was purely due to lack of overall talent.
But the players we had played their hearts out.
The coaches we had schemed and adjusted and did the best with what they had.
The GMs we had relied on the scouting department and the draft to build up the team and merely used FA to fill gaps for depth.
This is uncharted territory of 70s Buccaneers and Saints, 80s Lions, 90s Bengals, 00s Browns.
I don't recognize this franchise anymore.
And please don't confuse this as me wanting "old school football" to return. Three yards and a cloud of dust and a defense that will injure players.
That NFL is LONG gone, and I have known this for years now.
I don't recognize this franchise because from 1969 - 2012, the Steelers had pride. They played for each other. Even when they were outmatched athletically, they put up a fight.
I haven't seen that Steelers' team in more than a decade now, and it's heartbreaking.

I actually think the team has a clear vision and direction, it just isn't working. You have a front office that wants to be a physical football team and win in the trenches. 9 of 21 picks have been on the offensive or defensive lines (10 if you include Darnell Washington).

Then you have a head coach that wants to keep the team at .500 or better, so you see the team add older veterans in key positions. While Tomlin wants to play it safe and not turn the ball over, he has no clue how to develop a power running team and doesn't utilize the defensive linemen they're drafting to the fullest trotting out 1 or 2 DL almost every down.

This BS falls directly on Kahn. He's been grabbing at straws for the past 2+ years. Maybe he has overstayed his welcome as well.

Lynn Swan was at the game on Sunday; he was really good when he was playing. Maybe we sign him next? What's Levon Kirkland doing? We could use help at LB.

Sweet Tap Dancin' Jesus!
