AB Knee Injury

I think the odds are much better than 10%. Load up against the run and make Jackson beat you and the Browns have a chance.

Saw on ESPN that the percentage of the Steelers making the playoffs is 18%.

I read somewhere the rats were a 61% favorite to win against the Browns.................................. what ever that's worth.

I actually think the Browns win a tough game, provided officiating doesn't have something to say about it.

Salute the nation

I gotta ask how they would come up with 18 percent. I view Ravens as a 60-40 Ravens win. That gets you 40 percent to get a chance. Considering the Bengals injury I'd say winning is a near certainty. Its gotta be better than 18 percent.

Would you be shocked if the Browns won but we lost to the Bengals? I wouldn't be. I sure Tomlin will have them ready to play though. Whatever that means.

18% is pretty close, based on the current odds.

The Ravens are -275 to win. That's 275/375, or 73.333%
The Steelers are -950 to win. That's 950/1050, or 90.476%

73.333/90.476 is 81.05% the Steelers won't make it.

Until the Rats win we're alive. The realist in me understands the odds of the Browns beating them are slim, and no game is a gimme for the Steelers, ever. But until the final gun goes off and, the results are actually in, you can't just write the season off.

....and TEN-IND could end in a tie! haha. Never know!

Still no word if AB will play

I guess when you put the odds together. But those are Vegas odds designed to produce action. I've watched the Ravens for several weeks now. They have a fantastic defense, but they still run the high school offense. Everything has gone their way. The Browns will play a determined game today to play above .500. They have a good defense and a balanced attack. I give them a 40 percent chance to win. If they win I EXPECT the Steelers in the playoffs.

the ravens were an 8 point FAV in week 17 last year vs. Cincy at home in a win and in scenario - lost
Ravens are a 6.5 today vs. Browns at home

Aditi says its unlikely AB will play

Browns have been playing great, but the question is how bad do they want to win and would they rather see the Steelers or Ravens in the playoffs. Steelers have been pretty brutal to the browns I doubt that will play into it at all, but you just never know. I think Mayfield is too competitive to not put his best effort out there.

Teams don't work like that. We like these guys better than these guys so lets roll over. Sometimes, I would say when the season is over and the players can taste 4 months off to enjoy their money, they play a little careful to avoid injury. The Browns are a very young and up and coming team. They will not roll over today. 8-7-1 would mean a lot to this group.

The Ravens are their own/Browns stolen franchise? Only a crazy person truly believes they give a damn about the Steelers, or whether them winning puts them in the playoff's. It's complete nonsense. The players and coaches aren't fans man. They're playing to have their best season in a decade, and they can disrupt the playoff picture with a win.

Exactly. That whole thought process is comical to me. It shows why fans from other fan bases see most Steelers fans the way they do though. We haven't won anything significant in years, nobody gives two ***** about what we're doing in relation to their own season.

Right. I agree. Plus Browns/Ravens is a division rivalry game -- I'd give the Browns a bit better than a 27% chance to win, myself. More like 1 in 3.

But you asked how ESPN got their number...that is the math they used.

BTW, they also just said the Steelers were 98% to make the playoffs after week 11, so...just like in poker, sometimes the odds change, and you can't always count on the percentages.

just announced AB will be a game time decision

Another disaster waiting to happen for the New Factory of Sadness Steelers?

As long as Ben is playing this should be a win. The bungles are just that bad.

My experience this year with Steelers Medical has been if he is out a week he is out 3-4. Juju is the only one who sacked it up and played. So the cold hard reality becomes regardless of outcome this week, no AB next would mean certain exit.
