AB just asked Raiders to release him (and the Raiders Release him)

i gained a lot of respect for the raiders

Brown is going to wreck whatever locker room he goes to. That rules out New England or any other serious contender. Baltimore doesn’t have a good passer and Cleveland has enough diva receivers. Maybe they think they can handle him in Seattle. Beyond that it’d need to be a team with a good QB that needs some buzz for one year. No one is giving this guy multiple years or a large guarantee. I’d be stunned if they did.

Buffalo's the winner in all this, though.
the potentially gave up Ed Oliver for Antonio Brown.

Given his hate for Ben, Juju & all things Steelers - including us fans - would not surprise me to see him back in the AFC North. The Ravens seem like the most WR needy team....wouldn't that be something? The Pats of course will be in play, they never waver signing problematic players, and lord knows who else. And what kind of money would any team offer him at this point, after all this?

I am sure his agent already had feelers out there in case this happened. It really wouldn't surprise me if he signed with someone today and tried to play tomorrow. He wants every catch, yard and dollar he can get. Me, me, meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee............................

He is released, so someone would have to pick up up on waivers today, and pick up his contract with the Raiders in the process. Now, I don’t know if that means “as is” paying him zero guaranteed money and on a week to week basis, or if he would be owed the 30 million guaranteed plus the terms of the contract. Either way, I don’t see a team claiming him, nor A Clown playing without guaranteed money. But when he becomes a FA tomorrow at 4:00pm, no team would be foolish enough to offer him what he thinks he should get.
My money is on him not playing this year.

Looks like he ain't going anywhere this week:

Nope, I believe the Raiders voided the guarantees in his contract, he's a free agent who won't have to clear waivers, will be free to sign with any team as of 4 pm this afternoon.

Charlie Casserly was on NFL Network saying that he could not see the Pats signing AB since "he played with a HOF QB and essentially has nothing to show for it" then alluded to the drama and baggage that would come with him. Remember, the Pats had a chance to also sign TO, but steered clear of that **** show. They already have Edelman, Josh Gordon and Demaryius Thomas. 1/3 of which are head cases themselves.

I'd expect Miami to be the front runners for him since he lives in Miami.

and Musburger just tweeted:

I’m just flying into Oakland for the Monday Nighter and some dude in a hot air ballon is headed in the opposite direction. Can’t imagine who that might be.

this is true yet NFL Network is waffling back and forth on it.
When they were finished talking to Rosenhaus, one of the NFL reporters said that while he was on the phone with NFL Network, he could have been RECEIVING phone calls for AB, and that AB could play tomorrow as long as he's signed to a contract by 4pm EST today.

right.

Geez us nfl network should change their name to “ab network”.... sports in America when I grew up celebrated the doer, the winner now it glorifys the losers, the malcontents. It’s like the talking heads from politics, the Keith Obermanns, have taken over all messaging in this country and their message is “ see this isn’t great... this sucks... and you’re fool for believing...” ab quit on his team as they went for a playoff spot and it was like nfl network cheered him on. In old days that would have been horrifying and shut down. He then Broke his deal with Steelers threw everybody under bus, they cheered louder... now this... well the talking heads are winning I’m getting where don’t really care about football I mean I never watch nfl network, espn or any of that of it anymore. this board is like the last bastion of ******** for those that grew up in the berg and on the Steelers, pens and pirates or just love the Steelers.

I get my football fix.

even if he signed with someone today, he's not eligible to play until week 2.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I never saw that but it was hysterical. Thanks.

Raiders never paid and put together an excellent contract, knowing AB is a head case.

The Steelers already paid him a Signing bonus, and don't go after unrealized signing bonuses. I personally think they should sue him now to recoup their $21M

We have witnessed to economic majors that flunked out as their egos allowed millions to slip through their fingers.

Listening to mad dog sports radio.. Jamie Dukes is putting blame on Mayock for starting trouble with Antonio.. unreal.

What’s missed in all this.......The Facebook video, Brown got paid an endorsement for doing it. His produced video with Gruden’s phone call, Brown been paid for the endorsement. It’s all about the $$$$$. Plain and simple.

If I bet I would take San Fran or Seattle. Schematically he would be perfect for the Seahawks. they play playground offense. He would be deadly. Wherever he goes could be the most interesting contract in NFL history in terms of language.

Let’s us take but a moment to examine the damage the Pittsburgh Steelers inflicted upon the Oak Land Raiders.
Steelers receive two third round picks and a fifth round pick.
Oak Land receives Smoky Bryant who is no longer with them, and Mr. Big Chest who was never with them.
Wow! Our picks resulted in Mason Rudolph who is our #2 and heir apparent to Ben, Deontae Johnson who could be another star receiver, and Zack Gentry a third TE who may or may not turn out.
Two out of three ain’t too bad baby. That sounds like an Al Davis line.

Where will Brown go?

Miami
Arizona
A mental institution.

Someone going to take a chance on him. I can’t see any team offering close to what the Raiders did.
