AB is retiring.

Defeated once again or should I say DEFEETED.......poor AB

One can only hope the musick industry turns him aside as well ......... spare us all the agony

Ha, dude Tweets he's "Is it time to walk away i done ✅ everything in the game ?!!

Right there... had killer stats like no one else in a 5 years span.. but no real accolades nor championship to speak of.

Ya done it all AB....

Time will tell, but I say he gets in at some point later on down the road. Morals, dignity, and accountability are dwindling in this country and by the time 2030 rolls around his antics will be the new normal and all people will speak of are his numbers.

You make an interesting point.

Again? I wonder how long this retirement will last.

Exactly. More than anything else Mr. Big Ego craves attention. I can't see him staying retired for long before he'll be wanting back in and who knows - maybe there's some team stupid and desperate enough to sign him (though his burned bridges with the Faiderz probably rules at least one stupid team out).

No way. Even with the incredible stats for the time he played, way too much off the field baggage. No ring, no MVPs won't help.

You could probably make a case that, well, why is Sterling Sharpe in the HoF then? Very similar career span and ABs stats dwarfs Sharpe's stats, but it just all comes back to what AB did to the league and outside of it as well (sexual assault allegations, physical assault etc.) And Sharpe's career was cut short due to injury, AB for being the stupidest and most loathsome athlete on the planet basically.

Sterling Sharpe isn't in the HOF. You're thinking of his brother.

Shannon couldn't pronunciate well enough to be misunderstood so that would have separated him from little chest as well.

Salute the nation

That's weird, I wasn't thinking of his brother actually, I was thinking of him cuz I remember he had a prolific but short career, so I googled is "Sterling Sharpe in the Hall of Fame" and it gave me a date of December 9th, 2014 and everything. Then there's this:

But I see no mention of it on his Wikipedia page or anywhere else, so I guess **** you Google.

I guess I will have to stop my Facebook check-ins at the Antonio Brown Memorial Traffic Camera when I drive down Rt. 19 in McCandless.

In reference to HOF. I'm not going to comment on whether or not AB gets in cause I don't know. I will say this it essentially hinges on Chad Johnson. They have virtually the exact same career. Johnson had one extra pedestrian season. They both have over 11k receiving yards and AB has 8 more TDs. And their personalities were lock step. So basically Johnson gets in AB is a lock. If he doesn't pretty hard to justify AB.

Numbers wise they are close, but Johnson effectively played two more seasons than Brown--unless you want to count his one game last year. Beyond that, I don't even think it's close between the two receivers.

PFR's Hall of Fame monitor has Brown significantly above Johnson https://www.pro-football-reference.com/hof/hofm_WR.htm. I agree with this metric. While Johnson was good, he was never recognized as the best in the game as Brown was for several seasons. In fact, Brown was recognized as one of the top-10 players in the entire league during the prime of his career. Some other highlights:

Brown had 6 seasons in the top 10 in receptions to only 3 for Johnson.
Both were in the top 10 for receiving yards five times.
Brown had 5 seasons in the top 10 in receiving touchdowns to only 3 for Johnson.
Brown was first-time All Pro 4 times, twice for Johnson.

Johnson amassed his stats essentially over the course of one more season of real play. That is counting all the seasons where they were getting real yards. So if you add an extra 1200 receiving yards and say 10 TDs which is pretty fair, I don't think that makes much of a difference on a HOF resume. I think once you crack 10 000 yards and about 70 TDs you are a candidate. But the off field **** smells the same for both. Frankly AB is worse in a lot of ways. But like I said its kind of a dead heat in the ******** department.
Ward is an interesting comparison. Sameish stats over a much longer period of time. But he has two rings and one SB MVP. One of the best blockers of all time and played before the 350 yard passing game was the norm. No off field issues I'm aware of.

Sterling was inducted into the College Football HOF in 14. Shannon was in the NFL HOF in 11.

Sterling could have been a HOFer, but his career was cut short with a neck injury after 7 years. His numbers were fantastic for those years though:

Ah, thanks for the info Cope. That's it then, the college HoF. Just read Shannon had high praise for his brother when he said at his own induction that he's the only player in the Pro football Hall of Fame but is the second best football player in his family, or something along those lines.

Google knows everything. Everyone else must be wrong.

AB's retirement did not last long (2 days!) as he has asked the NFL to conclude their investigations of him so that he can sign with a team. He's pathetic and probably already running out of money. His accountant probably called him and told him he needs to continue to play because he is almost broke!

I'm telling you he still doesn't want to play football. What does he want? The free payday on the NFL Commissioner's Exemption list before he's cleared to play. The only caveat is he has to fool a team into wanting him so they can waste their money on him during his suspension.

Where is the "roll eyes" emoji when you need it....

It was commented on here... going backwards to no later than 2014 if not earlier... his diva tendencies were annoying back then.

I think most of us sensed it but didn’t want to acknowledge it. Still—there was something that kept Steeler Nation from embracing the 2014-2017 run from previous teams, including mid-90s & early 2000s — much less the 3 Super Bowls in 6 year span group

AB is the biggest clown in sports right now, however, he's right about this one. There is no reason they NFL shouldn't have a resolution to its investigation by now.

I'd say the fact that we KNEW we could never beat the Pats****** in a game that mattered.
Didn't matter how good our regular season record was, who we beat early in the playoffs, how good the defense was, come playoff time Belicheat and Br*dy were going to ***-rape Dick LeBeau like a prison *****.
3 Super Bowls in 6 years was great but remember that in none of those years did we have to face the Pats****** in the playoffs. Either someone else took them out or through some fluke they didn't get in the playoffs.

I think the a@@ hat emoji would work just fine. The next team Brown might play for is Florida Penal.
