AB bids Farewell to Steeler Nation

Well, I can see there were no interest in trading for Bell. His tag was too high. They could have tried talking to teams.

DUDE, read the article, about two paragraphs down gives you information you might want to read and know. The STEELERS could NOT trade LeMEon without him signing the tag......................so how the heck could the trade him????? And teams couldn't trade for him............. Kapish???

He says we are good at keeping our heads in the sand but obviously his is buried up his *** obviously. How many times do we need to explain something got damn it man.

Until he is traded, his current salary counts on the cap. His 21 million bonus counts regardless. Unless he agrees to repay a portion of the bonus which would reduces the cap hit. That may be an incentive to him in where he may end up.

His cap hit is spread out across the life of the contract if he stays. So the $21 million is only about $7 million this year I believe. If I can't trade him for value I don't trade him at all. He has no leverage because this isn't the last year of his contract and he can't sit out. He's ****** if he isn't traded and there is nothing in the CBA to help him.

VERY TRUE Vader and if he truly wants out, because he is so mistreated here in the burgh, the STEELERS will try to recoup some of that signing bonus. If any is paid back it instantly comes off the salary cap and could be used towards the cap.

Big difference really? Oh wait there’s a million more talking about how they got no offers. Keep your heads in the sand you guys are really good at that.

From your link:

"A team acquiring him wouldn’t be able to sign him until the season is over. As such, he would be a straight rental and that team would be crossing its fingers that it can re-sign him"

Right. That's just like Brown's situation. :rolleyes1:

I don't give a **** what he wants. I don't trade him unless we get a 1st rounder for him. If he can broker that, go for it. If not, he's staying and the hammer will be brought down hard on him. Any little thing he does wrong and it's a game suspension without pay. He loses his precious money and stats, all he cares about. **** him!

The Steelers front office needs to send a message regarding guys forcing their way out of town by being *** holes or it will just continue on: Blount and Harrison force their way out and play in super bowls for the p*ts, Bell will likely go wherever he wants...they need to keep Brown and deactivate him if he steps out of line, or trade him somewhere he doesn't want to be or where he won't prosper or this circus will just continue, young players are watching this closely....

Or maybe get a coach they want to play for....

I wouldn't play his games or give in, it sets a bad precedent. Keep him on the team if he shows fine, if not fine.

There is no question in my feeble brain that he won't get traded. What could they do to a multimillionaire Diva that doesn't want to play. Even if he was made to show up, all he has to do is be a dick and hang out. They can't make him do anything if he doesn't want to and the money won't matter.

They will trade him and it will be better for the team in the long run.

Lmao, that is pure delusional right there.

Anyone who believes the Steelers are getting a top 10 pick or 2 firsts from Raiders are delusional! Heck, Brown is making that any first is probably out of question!

Steelers need to be working on a plan and thinking out of the box! Too bad A(ss)B alienated Arians... I’d live with Brown(stain) for Godwin and a mid round pick.

I get all the sentiment to not give in to demands, but there’s no “win” in keeping him at this point and the fastest way to get back on track as a team is by putting this behind them and looking to the future and the pieces that will be here.

Thank goodness we were able to enjoy a blue collar, lunch pale, hard nose, team first guy like Hines Ward that was instrumental in in bringing championships and pride, before we as fans were subject to this millennial generation of “me first” players.

He needs to trade his moustache back to Hulk Hogan first.

The little bit of Brown the Steelers can use as leverage to get him to aid in getting a decent deal done is, Brown will be 31 soon and he still cares about his legacy in football history. With no rings to speak of yet, he can’t afford to sit out games, if he wants to accumulate HOF stats. He’s not actually there yet, especially with no rings!!!

For the teams and the fans sake, I hope both of these divas are gone before fall, as long as the deal is right for the Steelers.

They could just as easily both be on the 2019 Steeler roster.

I'm actually OK either way as long as the drama is over before camp.

If either or both are still on the team,..............the DRAMA will NOT be over.

Later.........Antonio *****

Steelers won’t get close to a rd 1 for brown. Just like they didn’t get close for bell when everyone hear was saying multiple 1’s

I think Coach was the only one hyping the Brown's two #1's. Everyone else knew it was ....well....impossible for it to happen since Bell wasn't even signed.

A change of scenery is probably best for everyone. Nothing personal, it's just business.
