Hey, look! We traded the best receiver in the NFL for a 3rd and 5th-round pick. It sucks, but it really was all we could get. Here’s a 7-round mock draft with our 10 (!) picks: Round 1: Byron Murphy (CB) – This pick has been and continues to be perfect. Murphy can step in […]

I like my mock better...

I think the only way Tolbert salvages this off season and the next season, maybe their jobs is to leverage the picks from the brown trade and trade up and get a blue chipper. We have just lost two of the best players in the game and basically got nothing in return. What little they did get must be used to get a blue chipper that can help get this thing turned around. a 3rd round or 5th round pick does absolutely nothing for this team right now. The future is now, it’s time to show some urgency as Ben is aging as I type this. get someone like Devin white out of LSU or Ed Oliver out of Houston, K’neal Harry out of ASU. That’s what we need not another fat *** offensive lineman that rides the bench but a stud we can plug in and play right now!

I don't see them using all of those picks, need to try and make a splash with a trade. And we cannot afford to be drafting a kicker with any pick. Get an athlete and hope he can be developed.

**** Jalen Hurd

In the immortal words of Bill Murray, it just doesn't matter. I've given up hope that anything can be salvaged for the 2019 season. Giving up Brown for a 3 and a 5 has soured me on the entire organization from top to bottom. Tomlin's first losing season is on its way.

Not a Byron Murphy fan. Feel he is more of a nickel back and with Hilton not a need. I think Greedy has the length, speed and is more quick twitch. Murphy just doesn’t pop out at me.

After White and Bush there’s a group of guys all a step down to pick from. It’s like a choose your flavor because they al have positives and negatives you need to weigh out. Cashman is in that group in my opinion. I think Okereke, Hodge, Burr-Kirven, Cashman, Pratt etc. I guess if they deem Cashman is the guy you go get them. Otherwise I’d go WR and LB later.
Wesley would be a big target for Ben but I’m worried about his speed.
I normally shy away from Bame players due to the bust ratio but Miller in the third at this point seems like good value. Again I’m not sure he is much of an athlete. Seems like a slower Chickillo to me.
I like Abram to push Davis a little and should be able to at least make a run at that hybrid S/LB position Burnett was supposed to become.
Absolutely love Jalen Hurd. Natural hand catcher with size. Not a blazer but has enough speed and is very shifty with the ball in his hand.
The rest I am fine with. I wouldn’t mind a punter since we have so many picks.

Round 2: Blake Cashman (ILB) – Cashman is the new hot name at the linebacker position this year, and for good reason. He’s fast, smart and effective against the pass and the run. Cashman is also the only viable 2nd-round prospect at inside linebacker. Devin White and Devin Bush will be gone in the first, and prospects like Terrill Hanks and Ben Burr-Kirven make more sense on Day 3.

Why no mention of Mack Wilson? Will he be gone by our 2nd pick?

Bell, Brown, and the loss of Shazier to injury, that is an unreal amount of talent lost in a short period of time. They did fine replacing Bell and terrible with Shazier. We'll see what they can do with Brown, but you have to appreciate the pick of James Washington last year. Hopefully that guy can develop into a quality receiver.

After reading how the coaching staff gushed like school girls over Taylor Rapp, don’t be surprised if he’s the pick at 20.

The Steelers actually have two strong safeties on their back end, and the lack of a natural free safety is one of the reasons for the dearth of interceptions. And with injury-prone veteran Morgan Burnett whining about playing too much dime linebacker, the Steelers could conceivably draft a natural free safety and move the rugged and whine-free Terrell Edmunds to dime linebacker, move Sean Davis back to his natural strong safety position, and insert someone such as Rapp at free safety.

The source agreed with the maneuvers, but doubts it will become a reality.

Then again, Tomlin and Colbert couldn't wait to sit down with Rapp.

"The first night I was here I met with them," said Rapp, who echoed several other DBs during the media interview sessions on Sunday in saying they also met with the Steelers "the first night I was here."

Rapp measured 5-11 3/4, 208, and said he played "four or five" positions last season for the Huskies - or everything but outside cornerback.

"I think I can do everything on the back end," Rapp said. "I think my biggest asset is my versatility. I can do everything. I can cover a deep third. I can cover a deep half. I can roll down in the box. I can run the alley and tackle. I can blitz. I can cover receivers. I can cover the slot. I can cover a tight end. I think I'm the complete package."

Haden is o spring chicken and you can never have enough good corners in todays NFL.
