A possible solution in Syria

If reports are correct over 6 million Syrian refugees have exited their country. Lost are they homes, jobs, some family members and happiness.

I have an elementary solution. Out of this 6 million or so people, there has to be at least 2 million able bodied men. What if we offer them a chance to take back their nation?

Train them as soldiers for 8 weeks, and pay them a privates' pay for their family solving their need for money. I'm thinking you can get over 200,000+ men to sign up. ISIS has far less men fighting. Let the Syrian's take their own nation back and fight they way this type of war needs to be fought. The USA could offer air support. medical support, rations, and enough military vehicles to defeat whatever ISIS has.

Thoughts?

One or two of those ******* must be able to play safety. Lets get a couple FAs in this deal!

Way to go Bammy!

The $500 million US effort to train anti-ISIL rebels has yielded “four or five” fighters

The US military has reportedly spent $500 million to train a local rebel force to counter the Islamic State in Syria, with the Pentagon planning to recruit about 5,000 fighters. Now the top US commander in the Middle East says only “four or five” US- trained Syrian fighters are on the battlefield, casting significant doubt on the US counter-ISIL strategy.

Russia Deploys 28 Combat Planes In Syria: US Officials

AGENCE FRANCE-PRESSE

Washington (AFP) - Russia has deployed 28 combat planes in Syria, US officials said Monday, confirming the latest move in Moscow's increasing military presence in the war-torn nation.

"There are 28 fighter and bomber aircraft" at an airfield in the western Syrian province of Latakia, one of the officials told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.

A second official, also speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed the figure, and added there were about 20 Russian combat and transport helicopters at the base.

That official also said Russia was operating drones over Syria, but did not give additional details.

Russia will never leave Syria now.

Why wouldn't they consider the region worthwhile enough not to create a huge military base there? It has a warm-weather port capability right to the Mediterranean and Demascus is dead in the middle of Syria/Jordan/Lebanon/Israel.

We've let the Russians create their own pet totalitarian country in the region.

This has nothing to do with ISIS. Syria could care less about those country poor folk along the Euphrates in eastern Syria. They just want to keep everything west of Lake Assad theirs and stable.

I'm not even sure Syria cares that ISIS controls the Euphrates down to Baghdad or not. I think they consider it an Iraq and Turkey problem.

Six Russian Su-34 Fullback bomber have just arrived in Syria

It’s not easy to move 28 aircraft and keep the deployment confidential.

Satellite imagery released in the last couple of days has exposed the presence of 28 Russian aircraft at al-Assad airfield, near Latakia, in western Syria.

The photographs taken from space gave us the possibility to identify the combat planes as 4x Su-30SMs, 12x Su-25s (based on their color scheme, these are Su-25SMs belonging to the 368th Assault Aviation Regiment from Budyonnovsk) and 12 Su-24M2s along with about a dozen helicopters, including 10 Mi-24PN, Mi-35M and a couple of Mi-8AMTSh choppers, from the 387th Army Aviation Air Base Budyonnovsk.

According to one source close who wishes to remain anonymous, the Russian combat planes have probably deployed to Latakia trailing the cargo planes that were tracked flying to Syria and back on Flightradar24.com, something that other analysts have also suggested.

Go Putin, bomb the **** of ISIS. At least one leader cares about fighting Islamic terrorism. Ours won't even acknowledge it. Because they're his family.

Pretty good run-down on the type of firepower Russia is positioning in Syria.

Putin’s Jets in Syria Are a Threat to the U.S.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2015/09/30/did-russia-send-an-anti-u-s-force-to-syria.html

Putin just deployed an array of jets and missiles to the Middle East. But they’re not the kind of weapons he’d need to fight ISIS. They’re built for countering another major power.

Seemingly out of nowhere on Sept. 21, they appeared at an air base in Latakia, a regime stronghold in western Syria—28 of the Russian air force’s best warplanes, including four Su-30 fighters and a number of Su-25 attack planes and Su-24 bombers.

Soon six more Su-34 bombers and at least one Il-20 spy plane followed, part of a contingent of Russia forces reportedly including some 500 troops plus armored vehicles and SA-15 and SA-22 surface-to-air missiles.

For U.S. and allied officials observing the deployment, there has been plenty of cause for confusion…and alarm. It’s not just that, more than four years into Syria’s bloody civil war, Russia has decided to jump in and make things more complicated.

No, it’s what kinds of weapons—planes and missiles, especially—Moscow decided to send, and what those weapons say about the Kremlin’s ultimate plan in Syria. Many of them don’t seem to be well-suited to fighting ISIS. They’re built to battle adversaries like the United States.

.../...

It’s not hard to see how Russia’s support of Assad could run afoul of America’s support for secular Syrian rebels—and how Moscow’s effort to establish an aerial foothold in Syria could draw U.S. and Russian jet fighters into battle with each other.

Don’t pretend for a moment that that terrifying notion hasn’t crossed the minds of generals and politicians in both Moscow and Washington.

The SU30 is the only one I would question. The SU 34 is a knock off of our Strike Eagle F15 and the SU 25 is a dedicated CAS/Attack aircraft that's going on 40 years old. Most likely the four SU30 fighters are to provide CAP and get operational data on deployments for what is a fairly new aircraft.

Things have escalated quickly with Russia beginning full-scale air strikes in Syria. I don't think anyone saw this coming. Heads are starting to roll at the Pentagon and State Department.

The Pentagon official who oversees military relations with Russia and Ukraine has resigned, a senior U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News Tuesday. The resignation of Evelyn Farkas, a Defense Department deputy assistant secretary, was reported first by Politico.

Farkas’ resignation also comes just days after it was revealed that Gen. John Allen is stepping down this fall as point person for ISIS policy at the State Department.

Why should anyone have to resign simply for telling Bomma what He wants to hear? I thought that was their job?

Such a tired and feeble response...the constant Bomma crap. Still a full year before the second coming of Christ Donald Trump can take over, save the world and "make 'Murica great again". We get it, the saviour is on the way. In the meantime, how bout taking a different angle for a change when discussing current events? We have an escalating military situation that has to be dealt with in the near future.

Maybe Donald Trump can fly in on his private jet and hold Obama's hand as he works out a plan to deal with this. We all know the wealth of foreign policy and military knowledge the Donmeister has aquired over the years.

What Indy said. Bomma has no means to deal with things when they don't go His way. When that happens His history is to ignore it and go play golf.

Far more than Bomma had when He was elected.

We need Bush back, so more Americans can die over there. Why oh why aren't Americans dying over there for a worthless cause.
Does Obama value American lives or something? Doesn't he know that Americans join the military so they can die and be maimed for their
country. And the more worthless the cause the better. Die for oil, die for oil, die for oil, die, die, die. Arlington cemetery here I come.
Start digging holes for more American soldiers. Holes, holes, holes, dead bodies, dead bodies, dead bodies. Americans aren't happy,
unless soldiers are dying for worthless causes for their country.
