They have been going for two with Ben and even a very I'll advised two with Landry vs. The Cards. They walk down and score and kick a PAT? What is my point? It's that Tomlin is a blind dart thrower. He is all gut feel. No overarching plan. Now you take Belicheat. He wins the toss he puts his defense on the field. He wants last possession before half. He knows the defense will probably roll over for a field goal happy to not give Brady a TD and then they get first ball in the second half. Often a ten point swing.

I thought the same thing. Not sure why they didn't attempt the two points there. I also believe we should kick off when we win the toss. I thought it was especially stupid to receive when Ben was out.

I agree as well. Come in with a plan and execute it, especially after dedicating so much time to it during the offseason. I think the idea with receiving (when Ben is healthy) is that the offense has a chance to put points on the board and get an early lead rather than play from behind. Who would have guessed that the offense would have so much trouble scoring while the defense has held opponents for most of the year.

The Bengals won the toss and deferred

The head coach up in Boston manages more like a "scientist"..

And the head coach in the Burgh manages more like an "artist"..

So the questions becomes...

Is NFL football more of a science or more of an art?

artistic or autistic? you might be onto something

Always defer. Then you have the option of on side kicking the opening kickoff. The best play to start the game!

I believe he's talking about the games where Ben was out and they still elected to receive to start the game.
