I liked the pick from the getgo. But perhaps outperformed what many thought he would at that time...........

Jarvis was the first pick in that draft.
I thought Leveon was a steal. The comparisons to Lacy. I'd take Bell anyday

I wanted Lacy and was pissed.

I wanted Bell from the start and that was the right call, but I think Lacy would've been more productive here than he has been in GB.

Agreed. Bell wasn't as good as a rookie. He cut his weight from 240 to 215 and learned how to best use his blockers.

Lacy does fit that traditional Steelers football running game. And at the time, I was ok with the signing of Blount to kinda compliment Bell. I think Lacy would've had a similar play style to Blounts time here

I remember all the SEC people on this board throwing a fit that they drafted a slow, un-athletic Big 10 guy, that they never saw play, instead of the amazingly awesome Eddie Lacy with a weight problem and chronic foot issues.

Personally, i was relieved when Bell was the pick. I was nervous that they would take Lacy, who i never thought was anything special in college. Lacy is a workhorse who needs a team around him to produce. He's not going to make plays on his own. Bell was a real playmaker who carried his college team.

Bell struggled through injuries as a rookie and didn't do much. There was a whole year of comments about what a huge mistake it was to draft Bell over Lacy. Those threads disappeared real quick once Bell was healthy and showed how much better he was.

I had no opinion on Bell when he was drafted. Complete surprise to me.
