LaDanian Tomlinson has to be in 1st shot right? Terrell Davis is also going to get a look I think. As much as I hate to say it, T.O. probably gets in right away too.

Lets hope Faneca gets in but OG is a touchy position sometimes compared to the glamor positions. Love to see Cowher get in.

I say Terrell Davis, LT and T.O. are 3 that are going in this time.

How is Bob Sanders nominated? HOF is a joke nowadays with some of these people. 45 should be considered.

I love levon Kirkland. still have his jersey(signed) hanging in my basement. one of the best big linebackers I have seen hall of fame worthy? no way

Darren sharper?

I'm hoping Hines will start to separate himself some in the process. It will be a several year process I'm thinking. I'm hoping eventually the Steelers will have a HOF starter and backup QB and be able to go four wide. Brown is beginning to look like a sure thing if he remains healthy.

Joey's "shot me in the butt" comment is HOF worthy in it's own !!!!!!!!

It will take Ward a bit but he will get in. People sell porter short. He was nationally recognized as the most dynamic olb in football for a couple years and has some outlandish plays and stats... Plus it helps he had a great season on another team too. Faneca will have a real shot this year.. He went further than i thought last year and there was a backup logjam at olinemen trying to get in.

Cowher wont get in until they know he isnt coaching again.. Like parcells... They dont want another joe gibbs situation....

I loved Porter, but he's not close to a Hall Of Fame player. Deebo isn't a lock, and anyone who's followed the team knows that Deebo was a full level above Porter as a player. Faneca will soon be in. Hines will take a while. I wonder if the brilliance of AB will hurt Hines? Hines was great, but AB is better than Hines ever was, and I wonder if AB's greatness dulls the shine of Hines Ward.

You can bold Gary Anderson!

The Steelers will not re-issue #1 because its there way of pushing Anderson for the hall of fame.

Gary kicked most of his career in the outdoors, had a perfect season and is #2 of all time on the NFL points scored list.

If you are the best or 2nd best for a decade, you belong in the hall at any position. IMO, he should get in but likely won't.

I agree about Porter. Also, If Greg Lloyd cant get in i dont see how Porter gets in. I dont think AB's excellence will impact Ward's chances.

Also Jason Taylor and coach Chuck Knox are from the Pittsburgh area.
For a while Woodland Hills had more alumni in the NFL than any other high school.

I agree, Lloyd is the better player, but Porter has all the splash stats and sacks.

Getting "shot" in the *** then going back to that SAME town and kicking their ***, would that qualify as a splash play???
Wasn't Jeramie Stephens worried about being splashed in the play from Porter????

Porter was on a different level that playoff run

Darren Sharper the serial rapist is a sad nominee

Tasker is the best gunner in the history of the NFL, and IMHO deserves to be in the hall for it. Sadly he will never get the recognition needed to have a bust in the hall. I also don't know why Mitchell keeps getting snubbed. When he retired, he held the record in yards gained by a player. Then Rice passed him. I'm pretty sure only Rice has more yards than him.

How is Chad Johnson even a thought? He's not HOF material. Ward kills him in every measurable career stat.

He scared Stephens so bad, Stephens married Hope Solo. I remember Jeramie short arming everything and worried more of the hit than catching the ball. I also remember in the Indy game, the two crucial sacks, You're right, JOEY was on a terror the entire play off run.

Are there special teams tackle stats? IMO if you are the best at any phase of the game in the NFL, the hall of fame is for you.

My Hall-of-Fame:

Tomlinson
Owens
Faneca
McGinnest
Dawkins

Others in my Hall-of-Fame:

Jason Taylor
Hines Ward
Kevin Mawae

Eric Allen is very close. Guy has 54 INT's and 132 AV in 214 games started.

I'm pretty picky for my Hall. Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt are not in (very similar in almost every respect). Mecklenberg and Mills are very close (126 AV for Mills, 113 for Mecklenberg). The safeties are close but don't make my cut: Harrison, Atwater and Lynch (to me Dawkins in a cut above them).

Not sure about how many kickers I want in my hall. Both Anderson's deserve consideration but it's kind of a separate category/debate.

I'm not a fan of Kurt Warner in the Hall. Too few quality seasons. Same with a LOT of the RB's. Some are also products of the systems they played in. Hard to separate that.

I don't think Joey Porter or Levon Kirkland are Hall-of-Famers. Just my opinion.

Coaches are also a very difficult thing for me to consider for Hall-of-Fame.

There aren't a lot of "transcendent" coaches and we have to decide how many we really want in the Hall or how hard it should be to get in.

I have Cowher on my "top coaches list" in a big group with Seifert, Grant, Holmgren, J. Johnson, G. Allen, Dungy, Shanahan, Reid, Coughlin.... All from #10-#19 on the all-time "modern-day" coaches (not counting those before the Super Bowl era).

How many "modern day" coaches do we really want? 10? 20?
