8-0

I must say today is the first gameday I did not make JMM Steeler Chili.....

Fortunately I have some left over from every batch and I freeze it. On the top, I note the game opponent and our record. After our lackluster first half I defrosted the Philly batch and cooked some burgers on the grill, I used Chili, mustard, slaw, and onions to make a Cheeseburger all the way- Carolina style- First bite-TD JUJU.

Back in the Freezer- Now it says 8-0 NFC East Philly & Dallas

was everyone else as shocked as I was that Ben actually got that roughing the passer call after the incompletion on 3rd and 10??
There were a few calls that went our way. Many missed too, but it has been a long time since it felt like the refs were more helpful to us than the opposing team.

8-0 is great.

With all of the talent on this team, 8-8 wasn't out of the question. All of the seasons we missed the playoffs with a healthy HoF QB, though? He has underachieved far more than he's overachieved.

OK, so Ben gone for practically all of the season. juJu gone for a long stretch. And Conner gone gone for longer than JuJu. Then you have Mason Rudolph out there doing his best impression of a young (and worse) Kent Graham .... Nah, even with that defense, 8-8 was damn near a miracle last year.
But, 8-0 this year .... That's pretty good. But there's also a little luck involved in that.
That said, they have some glaring issues to get fixed. Without Hilton and Alualu, not to mention Bush, the run defense has been terrible these last two weeks. Hopefully Hilton and Alualu are back this week. Either Ben's timing is off on the deep ball or his timing is off with his receivers on the deep ball. Defenses are starting to play us like they played Rudolph last year. The difference is in the quality of the QB, but they can't continue to get by without connecting on some of those deep passes. The rushing attack is not working right now. Don't know if that's a consequence of the defenses playing tighter to the line, lack of push by the 0Line or the backs themselves. It needs fixed. And whatever that **** show on special teams was today needs taken care of ASAP.

An 8-0 team that looked like a 2-6 team today but found a way to win is the sign of a champion!

The problem is they look like a 2-6 team every ******* week for at least half the game.

I have no idea how they're 8-0, to be honest.

The Ravens and Chiefs are better teams at the moment, IMO. I know the Steelers beat the Ravens, but the Ravens probably should have won that game by 2-3 scores.

well since the Steelers beat the ravens and only played a half...I'm not going to crown them as "better" yet.....The chiefs have been up and down a bit from game to game also...

also, I would toss the Bills into the "best in the AFC" argument.

Especially since they missed the helmet to helmet contact from behind when he hurt his knee, Demarcus Lawrence can in from behind as Ben was falling and had clear helmet to helmet contact with Ben, no flag

I didn't expect that once since the other defender knocked Ben into him...

Helmet to Helmet contact is enforced on QB regardless of the circumstances, it is like that Movie Big Jake with John Wayne -
Jacob 'Big Jake' McCandles :
"And now *you* understand. Anything goes wrong, anything at all... your fault, my fault, nobody's fault... it won't matter - I'm gonna blow your head off. No matter what else happens, no matter who gets killed I'm gonna blow your head off."

Seriously, no love for a Big Jake quote? How young are you guys?

I watched a bunch of John Wayne movies as a kid but I think most were reruns. I barely remember the old school quotes. I do remember I hated the one movie where he brought in ranch hands and was killed. I have always hated bad endings.

The Cowboys - all the men run off to prospect for gold so he has to get boys from the local school to take his cattle to market

my wife hated Bruce Dern for years after seeing that movie.....(he is the one who kills John Wayne)
