$72 million QB benched

Brock Osweiler vs Landry Jones.

Comp %: 60.3 vs 58.7
YPA: 6.2 vs 7.6
TD %: 3.2 vs 3.8
INT: 2.8 vs 4.8
Rating: 77.2 vs 73.6

Based on the stats, Landry should be able to land an $50 million deal easy.

Good things to keep in mind when we ***** about Ben.

Clearly the Texans overvalued and overpaid Osweiler. But the NFL is a QB starved league. Very few good QB's around. The Texans reached, overpaid, and lost that gamble. At this rate they might go through as many QB's as the Browns.

I always thought Romo would be the starting QB for the Browns next year. But the Texans is a possibility.

There would be no point in Romo going to a bad team like that. It will be a decent team that needs a qb. Denver has to be the most obvious destination. Houston would be a good choice, but how could they pay him with Brock eating up so much money.

How many times have we seen the same story that played out with Brock? Backup qb for a good team gets in there and plays well for a few games, and some team thinks they're the solution to their qb woes. Scott Mitchell was a well known case, as was the guy up in Green Bay that got all of that money from Seattle.

The question is whether O'Brien was on board with signing Osweiler. If it was the GM's call alone, there may be a Cowher/Donohoe type power struggle this offseason.

Houston would be crazy to let O'Brien leave. Houston is pretty much **** and BOB somehow keeps this team in the playoff hunt. Yes, part of that is the division sucks, but still, how many QBs have started for them? They lose JJ Watt and Osweiler plays like **** and they are still in position to win their division.

Yep, the guy knows how to coach and he is winning games with terrible play from the quarterbacks. Houston should have passed on Osweiler and did their best to draft one of the top prospects over the past couple of years. I think O'Brien would have better success with a young QB with potential rather than a guy with a ton of question marks.
