You can pick down, but can't pick up past the Steeler selections.

1 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo OLB - I was leaning toward S, which is what I think the Steelers will pick, unless someone slides down more attractive. Which in this mock is exactly what happens.

2 Auden Tate WR - This gives Bryant some competition, and a extra body given the Steelers will start the season short at WR. Besides I am not 100% convinced Bryant will ever get that burst back. In his contract year, he could prove me wrong. But I am not counting on it.

3 Marcus Allen S With Mitchell more than likely on the out by the time the draft rolls around, there is a need for a S to be thrown into the mix.

5 Bo Scarbrough RB Even when they resign Bell,I think they can use one more back. I think Bo brings solid value at this stage of the draft.

5 Lowell Lotulelei NT Steelers are down one NT with big dud a UFA.

7 Rashaan Gaulden CB - With Allen possibly moving to FS, throws another CB into the mix.

I don't think Allen will be there in the 3rd.

You will see a lot of that with mocks. Players you see going earlier or later. Maybe they over or under value a player or maybe you over or under value a player. Last year Watt was projected later and Juju and Sutton close to where they were selected. With QBs,WRs,RBs (a strong class) CBs that tend to go early, pass rushers and OTs a premium, not totally unrealistic to see a S fall. I mean Allen is what a round 2 prospect? We aren't talking a big free fall here.

I love this draft Slash!

1. Rashaan Evans, ILB, Alabama
It is a need position and he fits the bill as an athletic linebacker who can defend the run and drop into coverage.

2. Justin Reid, S, Stanford
Well-rounded player against the run and pass. Most scouting reports say he can play either safety position.

3. Mike Gesicki, TE, Penn State
I thought about double dipping at safety with Jordan Whitehead here, who is a terrific athlete and could probably play a variety of roles for a defense. However, I went with a guy who can help the Steelers put points on the board. He's not going to be a run blocker, but is always good for making the spectacular catch.

5. Deon Cain, WR, Clemson
We've seen this story before. Speed receiver with some question marks, but as a No. 4-5 option early on, could find a role on the team.

5. Shaquem Griffin, LB, Central Florida
Standout player in the couple of games I watched UCF play. Athletic linebacker who I try at multiple positions.

7. Not familiar with enough players at this spot to make a pick.

If Davis indeed makes the move to FS, I think Allen would be a great complement at SS. He’s a true thumper. Not sold on his deep coverage though

1 ILB/OLB Evans Bama perfect fit, already coming in from 3-4, fills immediate need to start at LILB for 2018
2 2 S Stay Elliot, playmaker, can perhaps give the secondary the type of playmaking ability that Troy used to, had 6 intc and 9 passes broken up.
3 ILB Jewell, tackling machine that should add depth easily replace Moats and allow in some formations Evans to lne up at OLB or kick Vince to blitz on a overload with either watt or Bud on a loop blitz 6 man rush or 5 man and Tuitt drops 5 yds
5 DT Tim Settle, need a body that will command a double team and hold his vs large and physical OL, something Hargrave was not able to vs the Jags
5 WR Deon Cane, great size, and speed to push Heward Bay out and fill in as 4 if Rogers may need time on the pup.
7 project TE

I like it Slasher but what about our ILB’er? Bigger need imo. You thinking F/A then for Shazier’s replacement?

Yes I actually will be shocked if a ILBer isn't brought in in free agency. Not that they won't double up in the draft.

Avery Williamson is the only ILB that I would give a somewhat lucrative FA deal to out of the bunch...
Of course I would consider Bowman, but I dont see the Steelers over paying for him..

Another lower level ILB FA I would consider at a lesser deal would be Hodges from the Saints,

Demario Davis is someone slightly under the radar, that could be a good fit. Besides Williamson, he is on my want list.

Not a fan of that one, by the way we get a 6th for trading Cockerel to the Giants. A WR in round two?

1 ) ILB Evans - A lot like Timmons. Nuff said.

2 ) S Reid - Above average across the board, a safe pick and upgrade.

3 ) ILB/Nickle. Leonard - Super fast nickel backer, The starting nickel backer is becoming as important as the slot corner.

5 ) TE Hurst - Would be a steal here.

5 ) OT Cappa - Big, strong, athletic, a small school senior bowl star.

6 ) ** Giants pick for trading Cockrell ** Edge Rolland-Jones - Taking a shot an edge guy here

7 ) Best punter, I like the Texas and Alamaba guy. Berry is below average.

no one expected JuJu in the second last year

WR was a bigger need that year as we were not sure if Bryant would be back and we lost Wheaton.

Bryant is a free agent next year and Eli is hurt. Steeler picked Juju because he was their BPA.

you don't draft to need....you draft BPA

So your saying if its our turn to pick and the two best BPA players on the board are a QB, RB, C, G, or DE in round one, or two, you want BPA?

1 Ogbonnia Okoronkwo OLB

Liked your entire mock but if this actually happened, it would be glorious. Bad dude who just ate OTs for lunch liked they owed him money.

For my knowledge this would be an excellent draft. Thaqnks for posting slash

Coach does have a point about our punter but I don't think a draft p[ick is needed. I think we can aquire a UDFA or two who can give excellent competition. Might be able to scavenger one also.

Salute the nation

I don't draft a punter when we still have ours on a rookie contract. He's not losing games and he's one of the best pinning punters in the NFL. What did he have last year? Like 2 Touchbacks? And you want to get rid of him??

Also want to draft an ILB like Timmons? Didn't Coach rip on Timmons for years?

Not to mention I google Steelers daily and saw one article comparing Evans to Timmons. And low and behold Coach throws out that comparison. I think the majority of his opinions come from what he has read over what he has saw.

I'll bet that if you google his new thread topics daily that you would find a strong correlation to some outside source
