5th reception...this week's "scandal" on 93.7 The Fan?

If you're asking me, It's a coaching failure. First down after the 2min warning with your opponent holding no timeouts, is a guaranteed kneel down victory. In a 1 score game, there is no question that I would have my team in victory formation. If an INT, fumbled snap, or Fumble happens from running that play, you risk the outcome.

It was a dumb move.

I don't give a **** about 5 receptions. AB had his shot with double digit targets. It shouldn't have been gifted to him. It lessens the significance of that stat.

Let's make sure it's recorded with an * next to it, then.

It's an accomplishment but kinda stupid record isn't it?
Quick, who holds the record for consecutive 6 catch games? No idea? See what I mean?

The play actually worked ... I like the pass to AB a ton better than the "no blockers bubble screen."

Some of you Bleeding Nancy's need to go change your pad.

I will be glad to see Ben spoon feed AB for the rest of the season, win or lose.

I don't see what the Big ******* Deal is. it got the first down and salted the game away. isn't that the idea?

The only option is to RUN THE BALL, just like in 1970, before they invented the forward pass. Passes are against the rules when running out the clock, because RB's NEVER fumble the ball. Whereas WR's are just like women, they can not play FB.

Either way, I'm good with it. We kept the ball for the final 4 minutes and the Jags didn't have an opportunity to even try and score. That is one of the main reasons we lost last week so I will take it and keep AB's streak alive. I hope he does it the rest of the season.

So if it costs the Steelers the game, you'd actually still be for it? I don't think the Steelers have much chance of wining any kind of championship but I still want them to put winning above any kind of obscure record.

Had those fucktards run that same play the week before instead of turtling up we are 4-1.

I forgot that play cost us the game, thanks for opening our eyes!! It was a safe call, worst case on that call is an incomplete pass. It was no different then a running play, and it was more successful then a running play in that situation as well.

No because incomplete passes.STOP THE CLOCK.

you mean just like when he ran out of bounds and stopped the clock and we STILL went into victory formation?

I thought we needed another first down to be able to run out the clock anyway, but I could be wrong.

Not as "safe" as Bettis up the middle against the Colts. The Victory formation is a ruining play that intentionally loses yards. I guess it's stupid for teams to ever utilize it?

Show me an instance when a team picked up a 1st down by incomplete pass and I'll understand the comparison.

Pass interference. Happens all the time. Offenses work it into their game plan. Welcome to the new NFL.

Yeah not all that worried bout it... got to find stuff to ***** about. it was selfish in a way, but if you think teams don't do this stuff all the time, you don't watch many NFL games. We ran blount till he got his 100 a couple weeks back too, but no one bitched about that. This kind of stuff stretches back through Cowher... not a biggie IMO

Or Defensive holding or helmet to helmet hit, or hands to the face... all which are far more liberally called now than even ten years ago per new rules and emphasis'

That's 1st down via penalty not incomplete pass, regardless teams aren't trying to run out the clock hoping to pick up a 1st down via pass interference.

There's only one record I care about in the NFL, and that's how many Lombardi's you have. Other than that, who gives a **** about them? Let the baseball nerds obsess over numbers, that's what they have to do when the majority of the game consists of guys standing around.

Didn't need to run the play, still had a first down after the 2min warning and Defense held Zero timeouts. Victory Formation.
1st down snap kneel down - 40sec run off.
2nd Down snap kneel down - 40sec run off.
3rd down snap kneel down - 40sec run off.

The run off time makes up the 2min. The plays probably take 2-3 sec each which allows you to snap the ball with 1sec on the play clock.

I thought we needed another first down to be able to run out the clock anyway, but I could be wrong.

No worries Ron, we're all wrong from time to time... See above.

It's an odd streak, but I liked seeing the Steelers get him the ball one more time.

I don't have a problem with it. Gonna be 8-8 again at best anyway so they might as well take what small records they can get. I'd prefer big records like "most points scored in a season" but we are where we are.

If we continue to feed AB we don't have to be worried about being in the position to lose.
