4th and 1

the OL didn't even get a good push for a fb inside run or a qb sneak, ben would of not gotten it.
Foster Beachum get blown, Decastro drops back to pass protect, Adams kicks out and Speath gets good push on man to man blocking.

How they gonna run this and then not let Ben chuck it up at the end for a record? Happy with the win, just wish Ben would have had the opportunity for a few throws later in the game.

This play is 90% Ben and 10% Miller. #38 blows off the line and DeCastro barely gets a finger on him but Ben sensing where the rush is coming from runs right and comes back across his body a little to throw it over #92 and hit Miller in stride.

One of the plays where the coaches would have been criticized if it didn't work, but you have to like that they were aggressive when the offensive was in the zone.

Gutsy call that fooled the entire stadium and everyone watching on TV. Oh, and the Colts.

That truly is one of those plays where you freak out as a fan if they don't hit on it.

Congrats to the much maligned Haley for hitting paydirt. It was a perfect throw by Ben under huge pressure though. That's the kind of throw only a couple QBs in the league can make.

Good things happen when you go big in those situations (3rd n short, 4th n short). Boggles my mind we go shotgun in those situations i was glad to see that we made them at least respect the run and read run first there.

Without the "RUN" aspect, this would never had worked. GOOD job mixing it enough to fake em out. This the perception needed to employ a great balanced attach. Colts couldn't guess run / pass, right percentages of each kept them confused. ONCE again Mr. Hailey, you did it right.

Salute the nation

That was my favorite play of the game. Perfectly personified the confidence that Ben played with all afternoon

This is also the play on chalk talk and Tunch goes over the reads for the play. The pressure shows up because of some very poor blocks on the corner. Had they been just so so nobody would even have been close to Ben.

the reason for the poor blocking in that situation is poor communication in that instance. DeCastro can't see the CB lined up to blitz from the RG position, by the time he pulls, the CB is already in the backfield. Even still the play worked like a charm. While we can see improvements in the line, there are still moments like this that show that they are still a work in progress.

There was also a back that looked like he went to far up field and ended up running behind DeCastro, had he been a little deeper in the back field he should have been able to hit the Blitz from the end of the line. Chalk talk goes over the play nicely in stop action. Had it been executed the way Tunch said it should have it is likely another time Ben has lots of time to throw.

That's because they we're pass blocking. It's an entirely different technique, you don't drive forward, you set up and resist.

Not me, the Colts had 5 minutes, 2 TOs and the 2 minute warning left. That's a lot of game considering it was a shoot-out. I was in favor of going for it all the way.

Thrilled with the win. I hope this team learned that to win you have to play tough, physical football. They sure did today/tonight. Ben was superlative. Think about it, only 4 NFL quaterbacks have won 100 games in their first 150 starts and Ben is part of the group. My wife pointed out that the Steelers have 50% of the 4 QBs! (Ben R and Terry B) Incredible night but the true tough guys are next week.

We need to take it to Baltimore.

Agree with your post but how many QBs have 98 wins in 152 starts? They might be very close to these guys performance wise. My point is these arbitrary stats are just that. Also some of these guys hit their totals in less than 150 games so if we picked another number could there not be even fewer in the group? I am more impressed with his performance in the game than the stat but it is nice that there are two steelers in the group of four!
