This doesn't have anything to do with the outcome of yesterday's game and Ben is a superb QB but..

My question is, why is Ben throwing the ball 30-40 yards down the field on 3rd and 2 or 3 on a regular basis.
I would love to see the amount of times he has done that this season. Yes, it's great when the pass is completed but more than not it has been incomplete. Yes, we have great WRs but the passes need to be precise and they are low percentage throws.

I have to question his impatience with driving the ball down the field, he seems to be all about the quick scores. If you want to tire out and frustrate a defense, keep them on the field and make them work.. that means keep drives alive by completing low risk passes that will pick up the first down, not slinging the ball 30 yards down field when we only need 2 yards for a first down.

Boom or Bust mentality, no allowance for anything in between. By now you would have thought he would have figured it out, oh well, it is what it is.

The ghost of Arians. Well, without the razzle dazzle double reverse flea flicker hand-off pitch screen pass.

...drives me nuts seeing that all the time.

Because Mike Tomlin had a "gut feeling".

They have to save the short runs or passes for two point conversions.

Considering this is a fairly recent development, and keeps happening over and over again, I'm going to guess that he has been coached to do this. Despite what we may think about Ben, he has been reeled in for the most part since Haley got here

Been saying it all year long. Drives me nuts. In today's game short passes and let receivers do the work.

This is what the pats do all the time. Death by a thousand cuts.

Takes a discipline , accurate QB, but crosses & rubs kill in today's no defense nfl.

The longer Ben is with Haley the more he looks like Ben with arians.

I love the jump on it and score mentality you better make sure you hang a 21-0 quick on someone .

Otherwise your in a dog fight and the defense gets smoked from being on the field.

Make the defense stay on the field then those deep throws will come later.??

I think this is their strategy to keep defenses honest and catch em off guard. I don't mind it in certain situations but there has been numerous times where we could've easily picked up a first down instead.

Our defense is a hit or miss on any given play....with that fact in mind id dink and dunk every defense to death.

They look desperate to me. It's almost as if they felt they couldn't beat them straight up. There was no reason for the Steelers to go bombs away against this Seattle team. They aren't that good. The entire game plan was idiotic and reeked of desperation to me. You need to protect your defense. Run the ball... they can't stop it anyway. Protect your QB as well. No reason to do what they did all game long.

I can see the play....but most of the passes have been way off target.

Yep. And it got their QB, who's already been banged up twice, a concussion to go with his other injuries. Stupid game plan. I could see if this was last year and Bell was out and all they had was Ben Tate and Josh Harris. But they brought in a guy who, when called upon before, has done nothing but excel. But screw it, let's put the ball up 57 times in a game that they have a lead like 6 different times.
