2026 NFL Scouting Combine

Slash's guy Treydan Stukes out of AZ ran a 4.33. And they listed him as safety, (I missed the TV broadcast so can't confirm) but a former CB at S with 4.33 speed. Sounds perfect!
Told you he was one to watch.

Have to love that speed, we have a need for it.

😃

I would be ok with a CB, but it's not our weak point. If we take a DB I would prefer a safety
I'm with you on a Safety. But, at CB we have JPJ and ....... ?

Exactly what I was going to say. The CB depth chart is in the same situation as WR, depending on what they plan for Ramsey.
Agree. A lot of people say bring back Pierre. And I like Pierre but he's in the same boat as Kenny G and may want to cash in after a good year, (outside of Pittsburgh). Plus Pierre will be 30yrs old at the start of the season. Never a full time starter either. I'd bring him back on a reasonable contract but I'd also draft one within the first 3 picks.

Adidi and Missy still wake up my my ”pair”.

Yes we still see and text all the time,

Salute the nation

So
I think people get too enamored with dumb things like arm measurements. I know what the stat says, but most DEs are fairly tall and would typically have long arms. How many guys actually played the position with <31" arms? I think the stat can be very misleading. It's not like guys are running around with fully extended arms. You need some bend for leverage / strength. I just don't get it when they say if a guys arms were .5" longer he would be top 10 but now he is projected 3rd round.
this is why the draft is such a crapshoot... everyone is looking at the same metrics and most of it is technically irrelevant.. like 40 times outside of pads, or the height of a RB... they dont really measure mental reaction times or the ability to grasp concepts... instead they focus on metrics that are so small in difference that they dont matter

Now that isnt say no metrics matter... a guy who runs a 8.2 40 will absolutely not be fast enough at wr... A 5'2" 125 lb guy cant play oline... but for a lot of this stuff thats like 1-1 1/2 inch off of ideal, there is usually a technique or playstyle that can still male em effective in the NFL... Coaches just dont want to be bothered withb anything outside of the box like that..

I mean how a 5'11 qb plays is different than most 6'2 guys, but it can work... you dont line up a 5'7" 190 lb rb and expect him to play a power run game...

But yeah, its easier to win the pass rush game with longer arms, but if it was impossible, The guy with longer arms would always win every matchup..

Devils advocate here.. because the margins for error/victory are so small in the NFL and the fact the draft is such a crap shoot, I am sure teams really hone in on the measurables. They don't want a failed draft pick and if historically, (OTs with less than 32in arms are less effective for example) certain numbers bear out, I don't see why they wouldn't try to maximize their chances on a successful pick by meeting those parameters. Of course, outliers to those measurables succeed thats true in most things.

I would say the teams looking to stick with those standards should also revise them with how the game is changing. LBers are getting smaller and faster, a blocking TE is not the norm anymore it seems, QB mobility is more desired, etc. But I think some traits are still looked at as hallowed ground.

Team needs along with combine news, I'd expect the Steelers to go WR, CB, or IDL with an outside chance of a safety.
