Whelp here we are... about to start week 10 with a winning record and 2 game division lead.

Lets breakdown the potential positives and negatives of who they play down the stretch:

Wk 10- @ Chargers
- why they win:
The Chargers Oline and backfield is a totally injured mess. Alt may miss the game, they have several other key oline injuries... their D is Ok, but worse against the run than the pass
- why they lose: its a west coast game and Their pass D is utterly impotent at times... a healthy Herbert can tear them up

Wk 11- vs Bengals
- why they win: Its at home and Cinci's D is a mess. They cant be dumb enough to use the same gameplan as before
- why they lose:
Unwilling to press their D and bury them, they let them hang around and Flacco gets tge ball at the end with a chance to win it... also Cinci is coming off a bye week

Wk 12- @ Bears
- why they win: the bears have a 5-3 record right now, but really havent beaten anyone... their D gives up a tied for league worse 6.4 yards per play
- why they lose: well Ben Johnson may confuse tomlins D so badly they just quit midgame... also the Bears have the best winning percentage of all NFL teams vs the steelers at 19-8-1... we love to lose to them

Wk 13- Vs Bills
- why they win: miracles and injuries... Bills bus breaks down and they forfeit...
- why they lose: Josh Allen beats the pass rush and carves them apart... also the Bills get ten days of prep because of playing on TNF the prior week

Wk 14- @ Ravens
- why they win: Baltimores D remains pathetic, Steelers D forces a bunch of turnovers
- why they lose: defense forgets how to stop the run again... or a coaching overcorrection sinks them.. Ravens get Ten days to plan because they are playing on TNF the week before

Wk 15- vs Dolphins (Monday Night)
- why they win: the last time the Steelers lost a home game on Monday night, Chuck Noll was coaching them...
- why they lose: The Dolphins are horrible abd this would be a perfect opportunity to illogically lose to a really bad team as per Tomlin's MO

Wk 16- @ Lions
- why they win: the Offense balls out and Quinn gets too aggressive, giving us good field position.. maybe because they are playing a division game that thursday, they dont prep for the Steelers as much...
- why they lose:the Lions have the kind of offense minded Aggressive head coach that eats our D alive. Goff suddenly is great against pressure D's, and their D is a top ten unit.

Wk 17- @ Browns
- why they win: its the Browns
- why they lose: they take the Browns D for granted and look ahead to the Ravens
Wk 18- Vs Ravens
- why they win: hopefully by this point it doesnt matter... and tge ravens are already checked out for the year
- why they lose: whatever ot is, it would be annoying and stupid, I am sure

Good write up, I see you don't mention the Offense production, for good reason, it is down to the Defense now. While last week's win was amazing, and a flashback to play of the past, but LAC has weapons that will test our defense discipline.

Three WR's, and a decent TE, will put the heat on our secondary. I have put defensive pass interference over/under at 2.5 (JPJ might carry two of those on his own).

Herbert is the key factor, read option and scramble ability will kill our D this week.

As you mentioned, PIT going to the West coast is going to be a factor.

I think its interesting that three key games, The Bengals, The first Ravens game, and the bills game all see us facing teams with 10 or more days to prepare for us...

I find it very interesting that while whom we play and where we play are mostly dictated by an equation, the controllable aspects of tge schedule havent favored us since pre covid. We all to often have key games where the other team has way too big an advantage

We have seen other teams ***** about these types of repeated discrepancies before, but we really dont ever say a thing about it. This is the second year in a row the Ravens play our first game coming off of a thursday night game with ten days to prep...

I don’t have the attention span to check if there’s anyone else in the league that is faced with this dilemma of facing that many teams with ten day rest. Combine that with always getting early bye weeks, last years mess of all our division games bunched in the second half, toughest part of schedule in the second half of the season, the Christmas games with something like three games in like 12 days against tough opponents, things I’ve probably forgot. Ravens early season tough games then second half relief.

Like you said, allot is computer generated but it is also reviewed, it really seems the we don’t have any advocates or people willing to speak up (looking at you Art II) within the NFL hierarchy.

If you think these discrepancies are just random coincidences, Sit down and chug a pint of white lightning. They aren’t random as the NFL commissioner has had it in for us since the CBA voting of our team being the only team to vote against it (giving hi8m to much power).

I’ve said recently in a post that our owner sits idle and just lets this **** go. No raising hella and saying NO, this can’t continue. Other teams only get an occasional anal piercing, we have so many holes we don’t know which is used more (our daily crapping or the commissioner crapping).

there is a formula used in scheduling, but there is tweaking to that formula and the Commissioner definitely takes that tweaking to a whole new twerK.

Per Williamson Rooney is and has been pissed at the schedule and does bring it up behind closed doors. We have been screwed in the days rest +/- the last few years and it IS a key metric in predicting wins and losses.

Be hind closed doors??? Whose… the Rooney’s / Steelers…….

Baltimore told the commissioner they would not play durring the covid. Even after the commissioner made it clear that teams would have to put a team on the field.

Baltimore ended getting their way and we had to play 3 games in 10 days due to Baltimore not having to play un til Wednesday.

Our owner didn’t do anything. He could have said ****-it, we showed up to play;ay and they didn’t….. thus a forfeit.

Nothing / Zilch / other than yes SIR….. we will play to your schedule.

Minority owners don’t have a voice with the commissioner, they do have voice with the majority owners and yes…… Billy made a point about the scheduling ect…….. to Art 2.

Art has lost a lot of Family Pull as far as the commissioner goes. We get bullied where as Dan wouldn’t have allowed that crap.

9-8 won’t win the division or a Wild Card birth.

I’m thinking 10-7 will. So a possible Tomlinships without a PO appearance.

I know this is all speculation on my part, but I see us winning the division out-right or by tie breaker.

That last game of the season is a “home” game advantage to us, we will dang-well NEED it.

I’d put them at 5-4 over that stretch based on their track record. If the defense plays like it did last Sunday? 7-2. They won’t, but man, how nice would that be?

I mean you see the defense that got them to 4-3. Then you watch last Sunday. WTF? Why can’t they do that with regularity and have the Bengals game be the aberration? No, no. Games like the Colts game are the aberration. Makes no sense.

It’s like they were trying to outsmart themselves until injuries hit the secondary, then they simplified it and played like we expected. Why not keep it simple when your better players are healthy so they can play fast, too?

I miss the days when we were not only feared on the field but also feared by the NFL as a whole. The chief would NEVER have allowed the **** that has happened to this team and I personally believe that goes all the way back to the Ben suspension, and Once Dan got appointed to the Ireland gig this team has gone straight down the s hitter in every way you could imagine.

There was a time when every owner, commissioner and The NFLPA bent the knee to the steelers. Now I feel like they all look at us with zero respect.

Sometimes I wish I couldn't remember the good old days, maybe this **** wouldn't hurt so bad. Man back in the seventies Art sr, Chuck Noll and the steeler players were talked about in our house like they were family, **** I use to get bummed out when they didn't show up for Christmas dinner.

Interesting take. I just thought it was poor drafting by Kevin Colbert, a head coach who doesn't understand modern football, and the lack of a good QB under center.

Pretty realistic take IMO. Don’t see the Steelers beating the Lions or Bills. I think they split the rats games .

They could easily lose to the Chargers being it is their West Coast bugaboo.

That would take them to 9 and 8. I see anywhere from 8 and 9 to 10 and 7.

Would be surprised if it is anything other than the three options…

You and I both Brother !!!! Great post and thank you SIR, appreciate yaz.!

It boils down to the fact that The Chief and DAN both were involved with the NFL league. Decisions and brought league ideas to improve the NFL business.

Art 2 isn’t near the participant as his fore-fathers. His softer stay has slowed the respect to what it is today. Add in the fissile play of the team and decisions made, disrespect sees a loose ship.

Add in that the Rog has found out and shown that he can bully the Steelers at will.

Nah, its been going on longer than that... in 1999 or 2000 before Rodger, The steelers self reported that a small bonus in the 1998 contract of an olineman was incorrectly counted on the previous years cap numbers... because of that when the steelers were making midseason moves while right up against the cap, they ended up being 50g over it for a small amount of time (a couple hours or a day, depending on when certain moves took place)

Now this was not caught by the league... it was an internal audit that figured it out

Tagliabue offered to let them off with a warning for self reporting, but Dan insisted there had to be a minor penalty handed down for precedent, so the matter went before the owners to set dicipline, and those ******** demanded a draft pick... it was negotiated down to a third, and it infuriated Dan.. but mostly it painted the Steelers as an acceptable target in the eyes of the owners, so when Goodell took over he used them as examples for several league initiatives, like the defensive hard hitting fines and predatory blocks..

The steelers voted against his power grab CBA, but lost, and since then more petty BS has hit the team..

I think it's going to be very difficult for them to get to 10 wins. Must wins are Miami, Ratbirds (split), and Chicago. Then, they still need 2 more to get to 10 which would hopefully be the Bungholes (who are lighting things up without Burrow who may be back for our game) and the Clowns. This is a tough ask for this team but we shall see. An upset this weekend would be big.

Calm down Steeler Nation, the Chargers are the Steelers West Coast...They lose games they should win in the most annoying fashion possible.

Steelers gonna get this one
