The day we all dread as Pittsburgh Steelers‘ fans could be coming after this upcoming season. According to WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, the 2021 season could be QB Ben Roethlisberger‘s final season. Smith-Schuster spoke to Inside Hook about his free agency choice to return to the Steelers for less money compared to other contract offers.

“Being able to play with Ben again for one more year … I believe right now on paper it is his last one. I think it is,” Smith-Schuster wants to send Roethlisberger out in the right way and that will be helping lead the Steelers to their 7th Lombardi Trophy and Roethlisberger’s 3rd.

“He’s done so much for me over the past four years. I had an opportunity to go to two different teams with two young quarterbacks who have tremendous careers ahead of them. But as far as Ben, this year is special because it’ll be his last. He had a tremendous career for 15-plus years and it would be great to go out with a W.”

If this upcoming season will be Roethlisberger’s final season, I can’t think of a better way to send him off into the sunset other than with another Super Bowl win!

Smith-Schuster continued to praise his future first ballot Hall of Fame QB1, “In my time playing football, I’ve had some good quarterbacks over the years, but I think Ben is by far the best one,” he says. “You don’t get those opportunities for very long. He was telling me I have 17 games with him during the regular season. It goes fast. So for me, it’s definitely motivation to play my heart out for him and the team. Every time I step on the field, I’ve got to play like it’s my last play, because I don’t want to leave nothing on the field that I shouldn’t have.”

Very hard to tell. Overall health will probably weigh in heavily.

With a better running Back, new offense and hopefully 2 rookie stud olinemen, he could play another few years. I think he still has the desire and talent.

Ben looked finished the back half of the year last year. I hope he is able to stay healthy and play a strong 17 games this year, but I think it will be his last.

Agree with Slash on the health. That’s huge! And how effective Ben will be this season. My opinion if he can stay healthy, I think he plays well enough for them to be successful. No 7 does not have to throw the ball 600 times and 5000 yards, he just doesn’t have to do that. Efficiency, accuracy, sound game plan, ADJUSTMENTS PLEASE, utilizing Najee to his fullest, sound run blocking, I think we can do this and make a playoff run, I really do.

(Yep. This is it.

Thanks for predicting your response for what I'm about to write..............................

FIXED: NFL hates Ben so much they are going to manipulate the games to get him a SB win and he will manditorily retire and be gone.
(sarcasm for those who are about to blow a gasket)

BEN would more likely than not, retire if winning the SB. A lot has to happen in order for him & TEAM to win #7 but if they don't and BEN has a giant year then he will be back again on a year by year basis. Which would you want............ I'd take the SB win and BEN ROETHLISBERGER happily retired.

Salute the nation

If he plays well and the team does well this year, I can see him coming back on a year-to-year basis. Of course, it all hinges on him staying upright and healthy. Hopefully, he has been eating healthy and working out even harder than he did last year. He was doing really well the first half of the season and even scrambling again. He started struggling after he hurt his knee/knees and couldn't scramble anymore.
