2019-20 Penguins and NHL Offseason

All this offensive talent and they can't do dick all of a sudden. It's not a vacation.

Stats were in our favor. Quality chances. I mean Crosby was hustling and playing a sound two way game.
JJ had some defensive hiccups and missed a point blank shot.


I don’t think you’d be disappointed by effort if you decide to watch the DVR. Be prepped to curse out JJ though

I'll watch it today. I did get a news flash of the unlucky puck of Crosby's that toed the line and didn't cross. It looks like one of those nights.
 
I'm getting old, West Coast hockey wears me out. Especially when I had to be at a 630 AM Breakfast meeting.

A couple of thoughts.

Riikola played probably his best game of the season, physical with some solid positioning.

Justin Schultz showed some LONG awaited sparks on offense. He almost got his first point in about a million years on the Crosby "no goal".

I liked Marleau, Sheary still falls down a lot
 
4 in a row. Ugh! I woke up to see the end and the Kings' goalie looked like Roy. He's 1-3, but he came to play last night. Pens need to keep working and pushing. The switch will kick on eventually.
 
Got another sub .500 team tomorrow. I hope they can get it going or I'm going to start having flashbacks of the Steelers losing to bad teams.
 
What a great first period 10-2 whole shots and we're down 1-0. bleh
 
What the heck is Murray doing sometimes? He looks confused and gets turned around knocked on his ***, or on his face. On that second goal he just watched the puck go right to Getzlaf.

They better get this BS fixed soon because they are playing themselves right into the wildcard race...
 
3-1 after two periods against a team who's 25-30-8. I swear Murray can't stop a beachball sometimes and the team is treating this like a west coast vacation.
 
First place to this mess. What I watched last night, Letang needs to sit for a game. He is sloppy, turns the puck over too much and it doesn't seem like his head is in the game.

Add Jack Johnson to that list. Petterson has been inconsistent too.

I mean they play pretty good at times but when you can't figure out a way to score more than a couple goals a game you are going to lose most of the time. Rust cant score, Geno trying like hell it seems but cant find the back of the net. How many times did they hit the post last night?

I am going to be the eternal optimist and say its best to get these inconsistencies and losing streaks out of the way now, rather than when the playoffs start, but I sure as hell hope they get Dumo and the others back and get hot headed into the playoffs like we seen them a couple months ago.
 
Couple thoughts

Every year after the trade deadline. Lousy teams start to beat contenders. Young players coming up, fighting for jobs/careers, exceed expectations until the adrenaline wears off. These lousy teams will reset in a couple weeks and return to being lousy.

Apparently ZAR is more important than I every thought. He's been out 5 games......

Sullivan is a great coach until the media gets in his head. Then he becomes stubborn and bullheaded. You can see the defensiveness in his the interviews. I think this plays a role in his lineup and tactical decisions. He has done a hell of a job up to this point. I don't blame him for being frustrated, he's been handcuffed the whole season.
 
There's really no excuse for lack of offensive production. If the team that played lights out when Crosby was injury would return,then all would be well.
 
Down 1-0 to the sharks after one. Well I can't say I'm optimistic at the moment.
 
Tuned in to the Pens game just in time to see Evander Kane score on yet another defensive **** up. This team is going nowhere. Team was rolling, then Crosby came back, and it has been all down hill since. Yeah, you could blame the trades, but this team just plays different with Crosby, and lately that just hasn’t been good.
 
Come on Pens,,,wake the f up!!!

i have no words. They look lifeless. Sully tried different combos with the lines, but there's no chemistry there. Looks like they are just skating in circles out there. Passing is horrible, defense is bad and if there is structure, I fail to see it. I'm hopeful the injured guys come back to give a spark, but damn, they have enough "superstars" and vets to not get embarrassed by some west coast bottom-feeders.
 
Last night was brutal to watch.
Lifeless is being nice. Idk what is up
 
I missed the game due to a family member going to the ER with stroke symptoms. Turned out to be something else thankfully....

After checking the score in the ER I almost needed to be admitted for a stroke.

I just don't know what the hell happens with this team internally that causes this.

Literally a week ago on top of the standing and being talked about as a possible cup favorite to unable to score goals a beat the worst teams in the league.

Maddening and Mind boggling.
