With the Steelers set to report to St Vincent college later this week we figured we could provide you with some insight on what you should expect if you’ve never been to Latrobe. Camp opens at noon with the Steelers practicing at 2:55pm. You should come very early if you want to get a premium seat as many guests will arrive well before noon.

There will be plenty of activities for the kids including The "Play 60 Fun Zone.” As described by Steelers.com it will include fun and exciting football-themed activities for 60 minutes each day the Steelers hold practice. Children will be able to register for the "Play 60 Fun Zone" once campus opens and is limited to the first 200 registrants. The Play 60 Fun Zone is located at the baseball field at the bottom of the steps of Carey Hall.

The traveling Great Hall which is a 53-foot semi trailer that you’re able to walk thru and view pieces of Steelers history will be at camp every day. While walking thru the trailer you’ll be able to spin the Steelers prize wheel and win a cool prize because every fan wins something! You can get your face painted by the game day crew or take a picture in front of various famous backdrops from Steelers history.

Don't forget to bring your favorite Steelers items to be signed. If you're lucky you might have a chance to get a few autographs. Depending on the circumstances some players may sign autographs after practice, but it is completely up to their disgression.

Fans are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food products to donate to the Westmoreland County food bank.

Now onto the reason you’re reading. The actual practice schedule. Please take into account that weather could cause practice changes.Practice could be moved inside and closed to the public due to rain.

I will be at Latrobe off and on. Have a friend coming up from Florida. I am sure I will do a combination of autographs and watching practice.

Haven't been since '63, but plan on being there August 9th.

Bin many a moons for me too Zona, hope you have a good time. I'm a little jealous..lol

I see they have bleachers now, used to be lawn chairs, binoculars, lotsa water and a poncho handy just in case.

bleachers but there is a few well shaded areas out of the sun if that isn't your thing....

For what it's worth - camp sucks nowadays. Too commercialized and advertised. In the 90s and early 2000s it was much better.

I wish they would change it up a little products, etc. But if you want to watch a practice or want autographs it remains good for that.

I go every year and am happy doing it for the listed reasons.........

Yeh, we used to sit just off the road leading in, on top of that hill, or if it was really hot we would go find a tree or umbrella to huddle under on the hill across the field. Problem with that was the long walk to the restrooms and cafeteria. In reality, my camp days are over. They would have to carry me up that friggin' hill now a days.

We always sat on the hill close to the dorms. The players had to walk right past to get from the building to the field.

I will probably come down from New York first weekend in August. I haven't been to Training Camp in about 10 years.

Going back for the week to help my high school buddy install a/c duct work in his mother in laws old house in order to sell it. A reality for all of us as we grow older.
Most likely will drink way too much beer and love every minute of the trip.

First and last trip to camp in 63 earned me a practice football from one of the players that was a neighbor of my Dad's growing up.

Going to camp this year with my son. We try to go every other year, and I usually take notes and share here. Would like to go to the Friday night practice, and the Saturday afternoon. I have a few questions I am hoping someone can help with. Can I get tickets at the night practice or do I need to get them in advance? Also am gonna need a room for Friday night, and was wondering if anyone has pointers on the local hotels.

I'm sure they will be selling tickets at the night practice. If you click where it says details up there listed by that night maybe you can call someone.

IronMike52 is from Latrobe and says the Wingate is the closest and the nicest. Also a Ramada and Hampton Inn in Greensburg. Little further away but all on Route 30 which is here camp is

I'll be there on Wednesday. I have field passes from Fed ex. These are from 2 years ago. Couldn't make it last year. It's awesome how close i get. They feed us and then get to meet a couple of players afterward.
