Hell- the top 10 is full of All Pro's and future HOF's. And dont forget Heyward...

I remember not being thrilled with the Heyward pick. Nothing against Heyward, I just thought it was too high to draft a DE in the Steeler's system.

Glad I ain't running things.

Isn't it interesting (and almost always true) that quarterbacks tend to be the biggest failures of the 1st round because they get over drafted and the expectations are far too high. Locker, Ponder and Gabbert aren't failures, but they certainly shouldn't have sniffed the top 12 of the1st round probably not even the 2nd round. The same thing IMO is going to happen this year as well, I just don't see Lynch or Goff being a franchise type quarterback worthy of a 1st round selection. GMs know this, but they are hoping to strike gold by drafting these guys ahead of where they should be drafted.

Papillon

There's some studs later like Sherman, Casey, Cobb, Murray, and Houston. Plus some really talented TEs like Julius Thomas, Kyle Rudolph, Charles Clay and Jordan Cameron.

That draft turned out to be exactly what we thought: loaded with talent except at QB (behind Newton) and desperate teams way, way overdrafted mediocre QB prospects.

Anyone going to raise his hand and admit to being way wrong about Cam? I recall many people thinking he was going to be a bust...

The Vikings would sure like a re-do for that one. Ponder most definitely washed out. He never amounted to more than a decent back-up type even given the chance to start.

Unless you have a strong defense and a solid running game- I would never draft a QB unless they are rated the #1 or #2 in the class.

Edit- I meant in the 1st round, at least. I am all about finding that hidden gym in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Some times the "dumb" mob is absolutely correct. I have no idea how any GM could think using a high pick on Locker, Gabbert or Ponder was a good idea.

I dubbed him Akili BollerLeaf at the time he was drafted.
I would like my crow with hot sauce, please.

I liked the pick, the kid probably was a victim of ziggy hoods failure so many people thought heyward would be ziggy all over again

...and anybody who thought Christian Ponder was a 1st round QB coming out of Florida State was nuts. He was average at best down there...same with EJ Manuel.

Browns do what the Browns do....cut their 2011 first round pick Phil Taylor before the 15 season. They should just trade down every year for extra picks.
