Not at all. The "five wide *******" schtick is old and abused.
I'm advocating that you spend reasonably to get reasonable results. If you can get a guy for $5m that is just about as good as the guy for $10m+, why would you spend the $10m guy? How much better is that $10m, really? Are you getting Revis in his prime or are you getting a guy who had one good year after 4 in the league? Is that extra $5m worth losing someone you already have?
Everyone is butt hurt because we lost to the *'s. Nothing about how well the team did with rookies in the defensive backfield, "OMG WE CAN'T BEAT THE CHEATING *'S!!" All of the other teams are trying the things that are advocated in this thread, with the same results as we had, except they didn't even get to the AFCCG doing it. Why would us doing the same thing as the other teams have different results?
That doesn't mean "don't try anything", it just means, don't have kneejerk reactions and make reasonable decisions.
