I don't follow. Out of 6 games we have played the only 2 QBs who have been benched due to poor play thus far. Plus we faced Keenam instead of Bradford. I don't feel like looking through 30 other schedules but I doubt any other team has played Cleveland and Chicago with Kizer and Glennon plus Keenam who is a lifetime backup. And Kizer's best game was against us. The passing YPG given up stat is skewed from the 100 yards Glennon and Bortles both put up. Both were because we couldn't stop the damn run so they didn't even have to throw the ball, not that our pass D was performing spectacularly. And even worse and most importantly, both those games were losses.
My point is, I feel like we have played some unproportionally bad QBs compared to the rest of the league through 6 games causing our pass D YPG stat (the only stat considered in this ranking) to be skewed. Also, what good is a good passing D if you can't stop the run anyhow?
I agree with everything you said. I also think Cinci has one of the better passing O's we will have faced so far so that should be somewhat of a test on Sunday.
I was just trying to reign in the expectations. Big props to the passing D for taking care of business through 6 games. I'm just not ready to anoint them the top passing D just yet even though yes, they are technically ranked #1. IMO the main reasons for the #1 ranking are the horrible opposing QB's and passing games we've faced plus the inability to stop the run.
Sure shut down a red hot Chiefs QB though....
can't point out one aspect without that fact
