PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Since leaving the Steelers in free agency for a 5-year, $60 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, wide receiver Mike Wallace hasn’t come close to putting up the numbers he did in Pittsburgh.

With three years remaining on his contract and the Dolphins reportedly looking for a way out of the deal, Wallace has begun to look at potential landing spots.

According to CBS NFL Insider Jason la Canfora, Wallace has expressed interest in reuniting with the Steelers.

La Canfora points out though that the Steelers interest in Wallace has yet to be seen.

In his four years with the Steelers, Wallace averaged 59 catches for 1,011 yards and 8 touchdowns per year while making the Pro Bowl in 2011.

In his two years with the Dolphins, Wallace averaged 70 catches for 896 yards and 7.5 touchdowns per year and has yet to make a Pro Bowl.

But don't Brown need Wallace because he draws double team so Brown can get open?
At least that's what most of you were saying a couple years ago lol. But on that note, pass. Ben wasn't hitting him in stride back then and probably won't now. It'd just completely take away his 1 play ability.

Has he learned to run another pass pattern besides the one where he runs straight down the field yet?

I can't see slowing the development of Wheaton or Bryant in order to give this guy more plays than a 4th WR should get. And let's be honest, his time in Miami has shown that he will raise a fuss if he's not getting the ball as much as HE thinks he should. So, "sorry Mike, there's no room at the inn". There will be cheaper options, with less potential baggage, when the FO looks to fill the 4th WR spot.

If Miami cuts him an eats the contract (which they likely will do) and he is willing to take a 'hometown discount' (which he may do now)-

Why in the hell would you not consider taking him back?

I think it'd interesting for the right price, but not worth getting excited about.

The team has limited cap room and a bunch of holes on D. Why on earth would they invest on Wallace when OLB, CB, SS and even DE help is needed?

Puff, puff, pass.
Diva. Slacked his last year here and played not to get hurt. He got his big money. **** him. The Bruce will take him in AZ.

Agree 100% on passing on Wallace but look out for the Patriots, he could rejuvenate his career with them as a deep threat like Randy Moss did a few years back. He is not versatile enough to add anything to the Steelers at this point with Brown the lead dig and Bryant showing an ability to get deep with ease and also learning to go over the middle.

The WRs that thrive with *Brady are those that run precise timed routes, and he isn't exactly a slinger but quite the contrary he lives and dies with short routes

In the "bruce" OC system, HELL yea. In theHaley OC system, not so much. Pass

Salute the nation

Brady CAN throw long but it's not his bread and butter. Wallace has an aversion to going over the middle and getting hit. I don't see that him and the Pats** are a fit. I figured it was a matter of time until Miami figured they weren't getting their money's worth. Wallace needs a QB like Ben to throw to him.

No way unless he comes at the vet minimum. I'm more than happy heading into next season with AB, Bryant and Wheaton as our top 3.

No thanks. He wouldn't want to be a role player. Besides there are bigger needs. I'd rather keep Hey-Bey. At least he's learned how to be a team player

Because they totally changed their WR group to focus on the short, underneath stuff. Which is why they also started letting the air out of the balls.

In case you havnt heard, Das Fuher has made that illegal.

That ship has sailed. We have a strong core of receivers with Brown leading the way. Wheaton and Bryant have shown more than promise, we're set.

As I said when he left:
1 trick pony. Good luck and enjoy mediocrity. The fact he thinks he could come back here I find laughable.

We have a Super Bowl quality offense, every effort this off season should be put into the defensive side of the ball.
