I doubt the coaches will make the correct adjustments and since Tomlin coached teams play poorly on the west coast get ready for 0-3

Since 1980 there have been 173 teams to start 0-3. Only 5 of them have made the playoffs. 2.8 percent.

Not much you can do with second string receivers, second string RBs, a second string QB and a second string defense, lol

0-3 here we come

Actually if the use Samuels and McDonald a bit more and play 4-5 wide less , I think they can win.

Samules is a talent.

The defense can limit bush covering for now.

I don't see us making the playoffs without Ben. Would be nice to see Rudolph play well. I'd rather us suck for the year so Tomlin can be replaced and we can get a top 10 pick to replace Dupree.

I’m hoping for a winless season. Hopefully that’s enough to get Tomlin out.

Oh, but the story line will go, how could he win with "second string receivers, second string RBs, a second string QB and a second string defense". Six wins gets us in the bowl games, right? Oops that's college, never mind.

And because Ben is gone, Tomlin will get a walk, which is ******* ridiculous because it SHOULD show that Tomlin CAN'T ******* coach his way out of a wet paper bag with a machete and can't beat a JV high school team without Roethlisberger. But instead it will cover his *** because he had to deal with ... adversity.

Season is over, San Fran is playing well, we are traveling West, the D is playing poorly, the Oline can't run block. I like Samuels, but he's not going to line up and do what he did vs NE. He has to be used in a spread O, as a single RB, he doesn't run out of pure running formations well.

We might have just bought a ticket in the Tank for Tua contest, move over Miami

Tank for the best pass rusher. We may be ok with Rudolph. We get 14 games to see how he can do

Is there a better QB prospect than Rudolph out there this year ? Tua is too small and only the kid from Oregon is considered a can't miss prospect. If Mason plays well he is our QB of the future.

I expect Mason will be satisfactory.

He's not going to win any games. Folks WANTED to call Ben a game manager? Mason Rudolph ASPIRES to be good enough to be a game manager. The problem is, there's no running game, no breakout receivers, no defense... In short there's no ******* game to manage.

The pass rush is not our problem . Tank for Jerry Jeudy, wide receiver. He’s roasting SEC corners.

I still think we go 8-8. We should. If we don't go 8-8 Tomlin should be fired. But, as someone said in the other thread, Tomlin just got a free pass on this year. They could only win a couple games and Tomlin will still be back next week.

I agree with the way we are headed but disagree on Samules who in some ways is better than Conner.

We just need an OC to use him properly.

Yes this is the evaluation year to see if Mason can be the #1 QB

But hell no for wasting more high picks on defense, they tried that, they have no clue

Draft for a true #1 WR and #1 RB

Surround your young QB with stud playmakers, probably need another top TE too

If we're in the top 10, maybe top 5 of the draft. We are likely going to have a chance at the top pass rusher in the draft with the QB hungry teams ahead of us. That's a chance to get a can't miss game changer on defense opposite Watt. Yes we've missed on guys they have drafted later. Harder to miss on guys very early in the draft.

That also opens up early in round 2 for us. That early 3rd round pick would have been nice to have now in retrospect. Hopefully Bush will improve and we won't be bitter about losing that 3rd.

We should also have a lot of money in UFA when AnClownio comes off the dead money list. WRs could be had in UFA if there's one out there.

It feels like 1983, 1984 and on to 1985... the team has talent—but it’s between old and young & a chance to draft blue chip talent in higher end of rounds...

But long regular seasons.....

This coaching staff doesn’t look at strengths and weaknesses of players and then scheme to those strengths. They line the receivers up like they’re all AB and say go for it! Same with the defense, just complete stupidity all around.

1999-2000 for me. It was a short losing gap. Took one bad year to get Ben but with that they had core players they built around. We need maybe 1 really great draft. Missing that 3rd round pick early will hurt next spring

Don’t forget we need coaches can work with talent too.

Amen. In the immortal words of Bill Murray: IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!!!!! Without a change in the coach or the owner, this team goes nowhere regardless of how much talent is stockpiled. At least in the dreary years of the 80's we had Chuck Noll or Bill Cowher that could develop the little talent we had. They wasted Ben, they will waste any talent we do draft.
