They are. Period. Full stop. Trying to add free health care for illegal immigrants and funding for NPR ($1.5Trillion in additional spending) was utterly non-serious. When Dems were last in power, Republicans supported 13 CRs. Now, Demonrats are trying to use the CR to do more wild, stupid spending.

They will lose this war and we may end up seeing permanent cuts we wanted

Republicans say negotiations on the tax credits, which expire at the end of the year, can happen once the government reopens.

The House-passed bill and its counterpart failed twice in the Senate last month. A procedural vote on each also failed Wednesday.

The Senate was in session Thursday, but no votes were held in observance of the Jewish holiday, Yom Kippur.

I've been traveling so not paying much attention, but it cracks me up every time there is this big panic about a shutdown, and the vast, vast majority of Americans who don't work for the federal government don't notice a single iota of difference in their daily lives. Nobody cares.

And the states then get reimbursed for state medicare coverage from ... the Federal government.

My heartfelt Government Shutdown updates are apparently failing to convey the horror - the absolute debilitating, paralyzing terror - that the GS is causing! Hospitals are closed, planes are falling out of the sky, decomposing maniacs are roaming the streets biting and eating people!! It's on the news for God's sake!!

Okay, hold up, that might be the TV station showing Halloween horror flicks. Okay, yeah, that is World War Z, not a news channel, but still ... just you wait! The apocalypse is right around the corner!

It’s a law, hospitals cannot turn away a patient in need of emergency medical care regardless of ability to pay, immigration status, etc.

Do you really think UNDOCUMENTED immigrants are going to doctors offices and somehow presenting Medicare or Medicaid cards?

there should be a law that states any funding for ANY foreign country or immigrants had to be approved by we the people via a special vote. It's our ******* money we should be the ones saying where it goes. They also must produce receipts.

Like I have said before I AM NOT for blanket student loan forgiveness but when the government whether is libtards or conservatives use the excuse of not forgiving student loans because tax payers didn't have a say in said loans, pisses me off. I have not had one say in all the ******* money that has been given to every ******* **** hole in the world and I have not had a say in given money to illegals in this country.

If these cocksuckers could figure out how to steal some of that forgiveness money you could be your sweet *** no one in America would owe a dime in student loan debt.

and another thing kick these fat lazy 3rd generation mother ******* off welfare and lets take care of the people that worked their whole life and PAID into the system. how about we allow our seniors to live a comfortable life in their twilight years instead of letting some fat *** twenty year old that already has four kids and can't stand the thought of working leach off the government; or we reward and support our vets that risked their life so you could sit your lazy *** at home and get paid for being a piece of ****....

Right now most people that are close to retirement are coming to terms with the fact they will probably have to work until they die, all the while we have millions that are entirely capable of working sucking the system dry.

I hope this mother ****** NEVER opens back up, lets get back to hunting, fishing and growing our own food, at least these lazy ******* leaches would have to do something to ******* eat.
