The horrors of Government Shutdown - Day 3
Still afraid to leave the property. Setting traps, hoping to nab a rabbit or even a squirrel to give us something to eat. Well, not a trap, more like a meal prep - an aluminum pan filled with BBQ sauce. My theory is that the rabbit or squirrel goes into the pan to investigate, and Emeril-like, BAM! Drowns, and prepares itself to be a meal. Not working so far but we now have a vast army of ants at our disposal.
Water becoming an issue. Remember the bottled water from Costco? Decided a bath would be a good way to relax so those are no longer available. Drank all the toilet water. Wife told me too late that you drink it from the supply tank not the bowl. And make sure the water in the bowl is clean. I probably should have investigated before diving in. Wife solved water problem by turning on tap - wait, water supply still up and running?? How is that possible with the crippling GS?? We must be on some sort of special miracle water supply or something.
Wife repeatedly just looks at me and shakes her head. Tells me she is going to the store. I try to dissuade her, or at least carry a firearm to protect herself from the roving mobs of looters and rapists sure to infect the area due to the horrendous GS. She starts down the driveway in pickup and I just laugh. The electricity is going to be off - how are you going to open the gate? Gate opens and she leaves. Huh. Must be on some sort of special miracle electric grid as well.
Don't know how much longer we can last. Apparently a good amount of time as wife went to Costco. More water bottles so bath time is nearing. Also lots of peanut butter and chicken breasts. Tell wife I love her breasts and get another eye roll and head shake.
Will keep you updated on the horrors of the government shutdown as best I can. Suspect internet will be down soon and electricity cut off as well. Until next time ...
