Yep. And Harrison may not be back next year.

So... Any defense we run next year is not likely to be an amazing recovery of the Steel Curtain. Acting like Lebeau was the heart of all the problems with the defense and that a new coordinator is going to magically fix the deficiencies of ignoring the defense in order to build up the offense for the last 5 or 6 years doesn't change the truth behind the current state of affairs.

That doesn't mean the defense can't do it's job and hold it's own. But it's NOT likely going to be significantly improved any time soon. We just don't have the personnel or the cap space to get there quickly.

Exactly. Even Timmons and Heyward are up and down. There is no one on defense that scares anyone outside of Harrison. This is all about the draft. When you miss on players it hurts for a while. The Steelers are never going to be huge players in FA so the cap isn't the problem. The problem is the draft and the bad picks over the past few years.

Yup, I said earlier that the D probably won't be ranked better than 18th next year either.

BTW, I thought this thread was going to be about Sanders going to the Pro Bowl.

Possible, still holding out hope for improvement. The FO will need to be on their game and have a better off-season this time around.

Tough schedule next year, so improvement realistically might result in a better record.

But with this team having problems with bad teams over good ones. Maybe that tougher schedule won't matter.........
