Cardale Jones to make NFL draft announcement at 4 p.m.

He's in an awkward position, he's a 22 year old sophomore that has played in and won the 3 most important games for tOSU this year, but he's behind two guys that could have been Heisman candidates and one was. If he's willing to take backup money and learn an NFL offense for 2 or 3 or even 4 years he could very well become very rich. If he enters the draft he will in all likelihood go to a team with an aging veteran quarterback, Steelers, NO, NE, SD, possibly Chicago or GB because he isn't going to go in round 1 or 2, but by round three teams are going to start thinking about taking a flyer and letting him learn behind a veteran thinking they have their future elite QB, IMO. Him going to a team that needs a QB now I think will be a disaster because he simply isn't ready to be an NFL quarterback yet and learning on the fly rarely works out.

I think he comes out and is drafted in the 3rd round by one of the teams with an aging veteran that has time to groom him and prepare him for the NFL. I doubt the Steelers would be that team, but they fit my profile of where I see him ending up.

He's eligible? I thought he was a sophomore. It'll be real interesting if he declares where a team takes him.

Is the eligibility based on year in school or age of player? He's 22 years old.

I Believe the eligiblity is based on years out of High School. He is 22 he should be good to go. Personally, I would recomend he transfer to another school where he can start and wait till the following year. The argument for taking the money if you can get it is good too.

I hope he comes out.
and is drafted in the 1st.

When you been to the top of the mountain, you don't want to sit on the bench again, do you?

Ben will take him under his wing.

he looks at Heather Cox the way ark looks at cocks.

He'd be a Fool not to enter the draft. He is guaranteed no playing time next year and his stock will never be higher.

Stay or leave. Place your bets.

He'd look good in....

He's leaving. Theguy has first round tools. Some team will take him in rounds 2-4, and make him the 3rd string QB until he's had two years under his belt.

This is a weak QB Draft. Winston is widely over rated with off the field issues . Mariotta I think will be decent in the NFL, but might take a while. Those spread offense QB's are tough to project. The arm, smarts, and footwork is there. Accuracy on the games I have seen is just okay.

If he lasts till the 5-6th rd I say we take him

sorry Landry

I hope the Steelers consider him in the 3rd round, as he'd be an ideal prospect to sit and learn behind Roethlisberger for a few years.

However, I think he goes early 2nd round. A QB-starved team that misses out on Winston and Mariota in the 1st takes him there.

Someone will take a chance on him if he enters. Looks like a 4th round to 5th round prospect to me. With 1st round measurables..

Clubs be careful as he is only a diamond in the rough............

Landry Jones is awful. Not sure why he's still on the team. Cardale won't last until round five. Some team that needs a QB, or has an aging vet on his way out will draft him before round four ends.

we have an aging vet QB

Cardale can sit for 3 years and take over Landry's clipboard holding duty

Here is the thing-

The teams that need a QB and that would miss on Winston and Mariota (Jets, Houston, Cle lol, etc.), can't afford to have project QB. I mean, it is painfully obvious that the guy has tools but is a major project. But in today's NFL, people are expecting results QUICKLY.

Lets say the Jets draft him in the 2nd- you think the coach could possibly keep him on the bench if Geno stunk it up? Just look at CLE with Manziel? and they were winning! Why any coach or GM would put themselves in this position is beyond me..

That being said- if he is around in the 3rd, I would snatch him up with no questions asked.

Dallas will take him.
same issues we have, though Romo is hurt more often lately

Because he has extensive film to go on?

I think those three games brings him up from a undrafted but I also wouldn't be shocked to see him go 5 / 6. If I was a gambling man I would say 4 /5. But hell didn't Brady have more tape to look at and he went 6?

I don't think that off-field issues really constitutes someone as being "overrated"...maybe a bit of a risk for long-term commitment, but I don't think there's anything really overrated about Winston's game.

Bit of a risk? His mental makeup has bust written all over it.

You have to wonder if he can focus and put the work in on the next level to succeed.

His issues to date bring that in question...........

Well back in 2000, it was a slightly different game. You didnt really need a 'franchise' QB to be competitive. It helped- but a a good defense and solid running game was far more important. In fact, there were 12 QB's selected that year, and only 3 came before round 4...

With the rules today, you need a franchise QB just to get to the playoff's.

As for the lack of tape? While he only played 3 games- those happened to be the biggest 3 games of college football.

no not me man. Those crab legs say so. That table jumping ***** outbursts say so. Those rape allegations say so. I am just doing the math and it is all adding up.............
