The pick up of the pass interference flag in Dallas where Detroit was trying to finish the game. That play was EXACTLY the same as McCain along the sideline in Pittsburgh Saturday night and frankly I thought it was the correct call then and should never have been picked up in Dallas. Even if they didn't call it, I maybe could see that. But when the flag is thrown by the closest ref, how the hell do you change that. Fixed goes a little far, but influencing outcomes. Ihave no problem with that being true. And that puts this one step above WWE.

Every since the Spygate fiasco I wondered just what the NFL would let people get away with.

Not saying it is fixed on a large scale. But you could have multiple people playing influence outcome....... You never know or playing with scores to mess with bets.............

I wouldn't be shocked to know some shady things are going on..................

I don't think its fixed. I think its a situation where some of the refs are just too damn old and flat blow calls. I keep saying this if you don't want refs to effect the outcome of your game play well enough that you a blown call wont bother you. 3 TDS Saturday night instead of 3 FGS in the first half and its the Ratbirds that are one and done not us.

oh yeah Steelers lost that game. For me I was talking in general.

I have said for awhile if you make every play reviewable with each team maybe getting just one extra challenge, that would be ideal .......

I could accept that if small market nobody gives a **** Detroit got that call. But it seemed like quite a coincidence when huge market, huge money maker in the playoffs Dallas got it. Sorry, like I said. Fixed no. Influenced yes.

It is pretty obvious Rog is in the pockets of a select few owners. He has ruined the NFL forever. I'd actually be surprised if it is still around in 15 or 20 years. I think viewership will start to decrease significantly.

If you loved how the pick up of the PI flag affected the game, you'll love what the NFL admitted as a "mistake" today:

The NFL admitted to the Detroit Lions on Tuesday that officials missed a blatant hold on Ndamukong Suh on a crucial fourth-down conversion from Tony Romo to Jason Witten with six minutes left in Sunday's wild-card game.

The conversion happened after the disputed Brandon Pettigrew play and before the Cowboys' go-ahead touchdown.

Had holding been called, it would have put the Cowboys in a fourth-and-16 hole on Detroit's side of the field. Dallas likely would have punted and Detroit still would have had the lead.

NFL head of officials Dean Blandino said Monday that the non-call on pass interference against Pettigrew by Cowboys linebacker Anthony Hitchens was debatable, but holding definitely should have been called on the later play.

Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford wore a microphone for Sunday's game, and the audio will air Tuesday night on "Inside the NFL" on Showtime.

"Can we explain that or no?" Stafford reportedly said after the officials picked up the penalty flag on the Pettigrew incompletion. "Just flat-out overturning a pass interference call?"

Stafford later could be heard yelling, "Hooome cookin!"

Yep, that was the same thought I had. It was the same exact thing as the call against Blake. I don't know what the hell happened in Dallas. The league needs to clean up their officiating mess and some of the rules need changing and clarifying.

mmmmm such opinions!!! Pretty obvious indeed!

C'mon. Give me a break. Seriously.

The referees job is to keep the playing field level for both teams. Referees are affecting the outcome of games instead of the players, it's a shame.

I believe I heard that this last weekends games set a record as the most watched wild card weekend in history. While I agree that douche goodell has ruined the game, people are going to continue to watch no matter what.

Slow down....You are implying the Jerry Jones is one of those owners, and if that were the case, don't you think the grand conspiracy could've gotten them more than 3 playoff wins in the last 20 years?

PS I think Rog has been terrible for the game. But don't buy the conspiracy stuff. Otherwise you will have to agree with the '05 Seattle fans, and those who thought the Steeler success in 08 was tied to the Rooney's support of that good for nothing President elect that year.

There is no grand conspiricy that can make a ****** team win 12 games or make a game that should have been 28-0 a win for the team that had nothing. But when they give a full description in the Steelers game of why the call was correctly pass interference and then the next day the EXACT same thing happens and they pick up the flag and the league says it could have been interpreted either way, it is pretty fishy. Ask yourself what is better for the league, Detroit in Seattle or Dallas in Green Bay?

Then the nfl comes back and says oh ya there was a holding call on the last forth down... Really... Id check the Fuking bank accounts of every ref involved. Smells like Dallas oilmoney at work

Not only do you have a case of a flag being thrown and then picked up (without explanation) but you have Bryant out on the field without a helmet on the same play.

ONE of those things has to be called. Picking up the flag is bad. Not even bothering to five a decent explanation WHY you picked up the flag is worse. Allowing Bryant to come onto the field without a helmet and argue with an official is blatant.

That right there tells you that the officials were going to do whatever it took to get the Cowboys through that game.

You nailed it Wig. They have copped to the blatant hold on the play as being an error. They said the interference was debatable and the lack of a helmet on Bryant as being up to the discretion of the ref. Well I'm going to exercise my discretion and be done with the playoffs this year. If I wanted to watch horse **** fixed entertainment, I'd turn on the WWE.

I don't think it's possible, without making it completely obvious or having so many people in on it that it doesn't eventually leak, to completely control the final outcome of games. Not in the sense that a game's final outcome is determined before it begins. But I certainly do think that it's possible for the officials to be instructed to lean heavily one way or another, and try to take the game out of the hands of the intended loser as much as possible.

It can't be a coincidence that James Harrison has been held on every down for the last six or seven years, but almost never gets the call even when a blind man looking the other way can see it. Or that certain QBs just have to look at the officials and they throw the flag, Even if the officials can't strictly force a game to follow a scripted outcome, they can be one-sided, and come down heavy-handedly on one team and be blind when it comes to the other team. And if they do that early and often enough, a lot of the time it's enough to swing momentum to one team and keep it there. The problem is you just can't account for the fact that sometimes the team that's pre-designated as the loser has a game-breaking play, or there's just nothing you can get away with throwing the flag on without tipping your hand that something shady is going on.
