As it’s 3 days prior to tampering period and no signing, I would think it’s safe to assume Ju-Ju is leaving. I think it’s pretty ****** if we don’t offer him a fair contract to stay…

Define a fair contract and in who's eyes? He is what he is, a #2 WR at best that only had value when he had a legit #1 drawing double coverage and safety help over the top. His brand is more important to him than the Steelers are. Let him get his big money from another team.

yeah, let Juju walk and then we get to roll out the soft WR corps of Diontae and Claypool.

I'm old enough to remember when this board was happy that we had Juju, Diontae and were adding Claypool.

I'd also pay the $10 mil per for Juju. He may not be a true #1, and I see him on a similar career trajectory as a guy like Jarvis Landry (good, not great) but he's also still a young guy... and has a ways to go in his career.

Even before the major shoulder injury this season...I felt that Juju's game was in a downward projectory as it related to his elusiveness, speed, and ability to separate.

But hey---that's just me..

Exactly. He is 25 years old. Prime time. That being said, I think he will get a much higher offer.
Trouble is they hardly targeted him before his injury. Quite frustrating with our offensive game plan

Aside from the monster year he had in AB's last season here, he has been pretty average. Could the offensive "system" have played into it? Absolutely. The Steelers' last couple Offensive Coordinators have done a great job making a lot of players look pretty average, so it is hard to say with a lot of certainty.

I like him back. I think you don't want to lose three vets in an off-season. If he doesn't return you need to bring in a WR.

I'd definitely offer him $10 million per. He is tough as nails and a hard worker. He's grown up a lot. He's the leader in the WR room. He has enough speed to run away from defenders for 2 95+ yard TD's.
I dont believe he can still do that...

For comparisons Godwin was tagged, he would probably had commanded at least 20M in the open market or they wouldn't have tagged him. Getting Juju for 8 to 10M to play the slot and be a possession receiver would be ideal.

8M per year with incentive $$$

I like this IDEA but don't thin k that's enough to get him into a contract. 10 mil + incentives will be more like it.

Salute the nation

My guess is he can. I don't think he's lost any speed at 25. He actually may have gotten faster with the training he's been doing. He is in much better shape now than when he had those receptions.

Character matters - a lot. Juju is tough, willing to go into the buzzsaw to catch passes, took a lot less money in 2021 to sign a one-year deal to give the Steelers time to get cap space, works hard, and is very productive with a legitimate offensive system. Seriously, 169 receptions, 2343 yards, 13.9 YPR, 14 TD's his first two seasons, 13 catches, 157 yards and TD in that Browns playoff debacle.

Sure, let him walk. No problem. Lose him and the WR position is now yet another position of need, joining QB, RT, RG, RB2, IDL, ILB, CB and S.

bUt He BE tIk ToKiNg!

JuJu is a nice complimentary receiver. A possession type receiver to move the chains. He’s young and can be productive for a number of years. I can see him being attractive to the Chiefs, Bills, and Chargers with talented rosters, good coaching, and young, established, elite QBs. I can see these teams wanting to add his services which makes sense. If we could get him for 10 mil per year hell yes but not happening. Won’t be surprised to see him get a better offer from one of the three teams mentioned and why would he come here. We have too much uncertainty especially at the QB position.

love the guy. But let him hit free agency again and see if he can get what he wants. hopefully he doesnt and he comes back home again

He was a light in the dark days of ABs meltdown with a personality we all loved. He will always have a special place in my heart for the knockout of Birthdefect in that Bungles game. That picture of him standing over that dirtbag deserves a place in The Louvre by the great works of historical art.

I don't think the Steelers can afford to lose 3 WR in FA market... Juju is who I would like to keep but I'm wonder if it will be Washington.

The Steelers need to bring in at least 2 WR. I believe I read they are near the top of the league running 3 WR sets.
