Really dude? What does one's political affiliation have to do with whether they are predators? In fact I can make an argument that if you are conservative you are more likely to commit SA as that side has patriarchy, misogyny, religious justification for immoral behavior(abuse of women), etc. as its hallmarks.

The current Prez is credibly accused of sexual assault and nobody gives a **** in the press.

Nobody will care when Watson plays again after settling his lawsuits. Nobody cares that he wasn't even suspended this year and he was paid in full.

It was an open secret that Harvey Weinstein sexually assaulted countless actresses but he donated lots of money to the Dem machine so nobody cared.

To claim that politics plays no role in whether the press condemns or turns a blind eye to such allegations is laughable.

Kobe was accused of the same.

You're certainly more likely to be accused & convicted in the mass media.
But if you're a democratic senator & you want to finger an aid, it's all good.

The only ones Ben has to answer to is his family and the man above. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and even the guilty are allowed a second and sometimes a third chance and forgiveness. It's easy to throw shade on someone behind a keyboard with no accountability. The man is a HOFer(soon to be) and the rats will come out of the woodwork again to spoil that day, too. Ben will have the last laugh.

This is not the forum for the debate, Sack of Dildos, but remind me - which party is looking to allow felons to vote? That might tell you something right there.

Outside of our fan base, he is not well liked. At all

Contraire

They did separate surveys of calling outside the market area(s) using 650-ish calls and Patric mahomes had 27 positives, BEN had 20 positives. Mahomes was #1 Ben was near 9th so Ben is liked outside of his market area as well.

Hey ambulance chaser I'm not the one that brought up politics in a football forum. And disenfranchising voters for political reasons is evil...another Hallmark of your side: evil racism.

Ben did all this to himself. Even in our fan base he is not well liked for anything than being a football player. I worked in his hometown recently for a little while (had to travel there for one of our franchisees). I heard a lot of things about this guy when discussing steelers with local people. Maybe the light came on for him and he changed once he got married and settled down. However i couldn't find or talk with a single person that didn't say he was a egotistical narcissistic jerk from pretty much high school to college to the pros. The general consensus was this guy walked around most of his life acting like his stuff didn't stink and generally thought he was better than everyone and had no issues with acting and letting people know it.

I have loved watching him play he was exciting to watch. However I'm sure most of us fans can read between the lines with his press conferences, his actions, his radio show his quotes and interviews and how he has carried himself. The guy has been a douchebag. If he played for another team and we watched his behaviour every single steelers fan would trash this guy. But we love our team, he was on our team and we rolled with him and excused his behaviour and actions. Hell of a football player, not much in the good human being category though sadly.

Just a stab in the dark here, but I'd bet none on this site have been saints all their lives.

Could Ben be guilty, sure, could these young ladies have played a part in that and then looked for a payday, you bet.

I get what you are saying and I've heard enough to know that he was a prick. I've heard the stories of him not tipping servers, acting like he should get his food for free, etc.
I do think the **** in GA caught up to him and made him change his ways. The Rooneys made him change his ways and I like to think, he changed. I have heard more recent stories that he is more approachable, has a different attitude. Most fans or general people that didn't like him before will never see him as a changed person/family man now. They will always see him as Ben Rapistberger. That bad rep will stick with him forever. People don't forget and will never let it go. He will always be an overpaid, jerk jock that thinks his **** don't stink and got away with SA to them.

Exactly. Apparently we have a lot of the man child types who can't separate the athlete from the human being and have this need to worship another man. The " James J Jeffries Syndrome" as I'll call it also comes into play for some as a byproduct of their conservatism so they are willing to overlook all his transgressions.

I wonder if he has payed up with all the Pittsburgh restaurant owners he stiffed while hanging with Willie Colon and the other O lineman back in the day? I have a feeling the answer is no, in fact I know it's no just from speaking to one about a year ago, but hey $2,400 dollars is a lot for a guy with only $100,000,000....thank God he's a Christian... imagine what kind of human being he would be if he wasn't...................

He did change some he's not so in your face about it anymore. You don't just change Narcissism over night. Most never change they just change the way they are perceived, they change their tactics. I don't know who he really is as a man today. I don't know if he really changed his stripes or if its all a show. Sometimes you listen to his interviews and that signature passive aggressive crap he does comes out more and it makes me think nope this guy just learned how to play the PR game better is all. Who knows. He's just a man and a football player so it really doesn't matter to me. However i also don't worship any other man cause of their "celebrity status".

He entertains/ed me and I support him on the football field. I don't worship him or any other athlete/celebrity. They are all people when you break them down, whom has a greater ability to do certain things. If they are ********, then that's on them. I don't have to live with them, talk to or follow them. It's entertainment and they are people, good or bad.

Its astonishing how some of these new posters say they know all about a player/individual, when they really don’t know anything other than their own opinion.

“James Jeffries Syndrome”….Equating early 1900’s bigotry with a modern 20+ year old enveloped in fame. Ridiculous. The motivation Roethlisberger had after Milidgeville was simple. Dan Rooney told Ben to grow up, get your act together like a professional or your time as QB for the Steelers was over. His parents had an intervention to help straighten him out.

To reference interviews to the press as juxtaposition as to who a person is laughable. Players who are smart learn the PR game. They learn it from their agents, coaches and peers. Most if not all QBs are Passive-Aggressive. Passive-Aggressive is the sports media calling card for the past 10-15 years to compete with social media.

Nobody is a saint.

But nobody views Ben like we do either. It is what it is. Either you like him or hate him.

I personally don’t care cause I personally don’t know him. Whatever he has going on is his business to handle. Same as him being a football player.

Exactly. On the field or ice all they are is name/number. You’d like to think their personality gives some individuality but at the end of the day you root for the logo.

Some fans do get attached to players. A lot of fans cried for Ben’s last game at heinz. I could never get that emotional over an athlete.

How many people grieved when Kobe died, and he much like Ben was accused?

I don’t get the celeb/athlete worship. But to each their own
