He might not have the strongest arm but he's pretty mobile for a QB but the one thing that impresses me about him is his accuracy with the football. His ball placement is really some of the best I've seen from any college QB's. How it translates to the NFL is always a gamble but accuracy is not something you can teach and this kid has it. I don't know what the Steelers need to do to secure this kid in the NFL draft but he has a great chance to be a very special player in the NFL. The only downside I see is that the kid will be 24 years old as a rookie but damn his accuracy really has me hoping our Steelers can get this kid.

Take a look at his accuracy throwing the pigskin!

Thoughts?

Why? You want Mason Rudolph? If you watch his game highlights you will see his accuracy is scary good. I know he has small hands but he also has Double Jointed thumbs that many say allow him to throw the ball with good velocity.

if you read any of my posts you know I don't think rudy is the answer

Highlights don't tell the story...

I have watched many Pitt games and just don't get the love for the kid other than he is from Pitt

I could very well be wrong about the kid, but I don't want the Steelers to give up the farm to move up for this guy

When I see a kid throw the ball with the accuracy that Kenny Pickett does it's hard to not get excited. Even Ben wasn't that accurate in College.

I doubt that he gets past the giants-panthers-giants part of the draft.

They should definitely be looking hard into every big time qb just in case one exists that they really feel is franchise and drops to them, but im not sure that’s anyone in this draft… do your due diligence and if a guy you love falls to you great, otherwise get a olinemen in the first that you can anchor the line around

say ing get kenny pickitt is akin too saying ben was the probblem..
My preference is to draft line players on both sides of the ball. However, I think its more akin to Ben retiring and they need a qb. I agree Tomlin is the problem. But while he is here they can't just throw their hands up.

Heard an interesting story about the kid and that he has an extra bone in his hand, the scout said this is one of the reasons for his small hand size measurement (doesn’t open the same as “normal boners”)

I’d say he likely won’t be there when we draft and we have other needs that must be fixed first. LOS

You know who else was a super accurate QB in college? Dwayne Haskins.

I like KP, but if Canada is still here, it doesn't matter who we draft or acquire through FA.

Pickett is going top 10 and could very well be the top 10 QB drafted. Corral is probably the other guy in contention as a top 2 QB. Instead, we need to be looking at Willis, Strong, Ridder, and Howell.

Willis is the least pro ready but the highest potential.

Strong is the most pro ready and the biggest arm, but can't move.

Ridder checks just about every box except accuracy.

Howell is not going to be good in the NFL and it worries me the Steelers have invested so much time in scouting him.

I hope they draft Pickett. I doubt it happens. If they do,I'd have him sit for a season and learn. Let Mason and Haskins run the show. Invest in the OL/DL and CB.

After our losing season next year invest more into the OL/DL. Draft offensive talent and turn your QB loose.

That's my take. They're at least 3 years away from being taken seriously again.

The coaching staff I'd replace all of them. Enough is enough. We need brilliant minds and teachers who can mold and built something great.

But that's all on the owner of the team. If he's cool with the team having no real direction, then all we can do is wait and suffer.

Don't put the cart in front of the horse, better QBs in next year's draft, OL / DL / IMLB /

Assuming they're better. You never really know. What is great in college is **** in the NFL. You see it every year.

What teams **** up on is throwing their qb into the fire too quick. Most burn up or they have terrible development staff.

I am however fully 100% convinced that if the Steelers do not change the HC ,they will never win another championship.

I can never say never but you are more likely right than you are wrong.

Mason needs to be the answer for a year. Even if we draft someone. Let him shine or be the one killed behind the line. ANd as I have said previously you don't want to be the guy following a legend so let Mason be that guy.

Rudolph and Haskins will fight for the No. 1 spot. If they draft a QB, it will be whoever falls to them or they will be even dumber and waste a pick in the 2nd or 3rd round. Just bring in another FA to compete this year. Try to fill as many of the holes we have on this team - DL is No. 1, OL is No. 2, then we have issues at WR, CB, ILB, and OLB to name a few. In fact, we may need 2 new ILB's after 2022 especially if they don't pick up Bush's 5th-year option.

Being a homer, I would like to see Pickett in a Steeler uniform, but they would have to move up about 10 spots to get him, so that's not going to happen.

Pickett ends up in Carolina or Denver, and the Steelers need to concentrate on the best big ugly on the board.
