What do you expect him to say? He is not going to throw the guy under the bus. What his actions are when the season is over will be the answer.
I'm actually leaning toward the moron side of my statement. I think Tomlin is fine with Canada. And, if any assistants do leave, he will just promote from within so he can keep control of everything.

Canada should have been fired already.
100% agree. He has no clue. But, like the D, Tomlin may actually be running the shitshow. Butler is just a figurehead and will be fired or retire after this year. Tomlin will then just promote someone from within so he can continue to run the D.

My .02:
Canada isn’t going anywhere. He’s part of Tomlins post Ben plan. Why else all season has he mentioned importance of mobile QBs all the while our all time great can’t move like he used to. I think Tomlin has taken the cheese of Lamars game In Baltimore and wants that here. Canada’s offense is a no fit whatsoever for Ben’s skill set. I love Ben and what he’s done for this team, but when you look at what the team didn’t do while supposedly going all in one more time, it just looks more and more to me like this was a gratuitous farewell tour for Ben and Canada and Tomlin are banking on getting a mobile QB to run his offense next year.

Most definately !!! Along with Bubbles / Butler / Tomlin / Colbert and all the inbetween but Canada should be gone without a doubt.

Like TDX27 mentioned...... it will be Tomlin's actions that speak, not is roundhouse Tolinisms.

Tomlin isn’t going to publicly criticize his coaches. Although, I do think Tomlin does believe more often than not it’s an execution issue more than a player issue. You know this because Heyward talks about it every time the defense fails.

I think you are probably right. I hope he isn't looking for a Lamar type but just a QB that can move around and run when needed to keep a D honest. I would hate having a QB like Lamar for the Steelers.

Again, blaming Canada, whose offense is already incorporated into several high octane NFL teams, ignores the fact that the problems with the offense predates Canada... Tomlin micromanages... the offense is designed to what he wants.... extremely conservative until late.... we dont risk interceptions over the middle, we avoid trying contested throws and mostly try short quick plays designed for yac until we are absolutely forced to adapt... its the same formula for years... I think the reason Tomlin is ok with it is its what he wants....

I’m not sure if anyone remembers other than Pepperage Farms, Mularkey was a tight ends coach under Cowher and became a descent offensive coordinators. We also forgot Arians who was the WR coach and was then promoted to OC. It’s not the worst thing to look within.

It's fair to blame Canada. While he has elements of his offense in other offenses around the league, the guy hasn't exactly lit it up as OC. He was fired from his NC State and LSU jobs and had a plethora of NFL talent while at Pitt. I probably tend to agree with you that Tomlin micromanages and will even let Canada off the hook to an extent with below average QB play and a bottom 5 offensive line. I just don't think he was the best available option last year or the best option moving forward.

the key here is that they were coaches under Cowher. how many coaches did Cowher develop over his time here? how many went on to be head coaches? quite a few. now how many coaches has Tomlin actually developed that were promoted to a higher position then they had here???? crickets.

Warriors is right; the Tomlin Coaching Tree will always be a stick laying on the ground.

Canada left sPitt and Sparky Pickett became a Heisman candidate.

Just sayin'...

All I can say is WTF! Tomlin has got to be a complete moron or he is just trying to be nice until he fires Canada after the season. Canada has been absolutely awful.

Should heave been fired years ago when he won his last playoff game. That was years ago, and he won't win another one as the Steelers head coach.

If they don’t let Ben call the plays he wants on Monday all game they are fools.

Arians worked here but I' not so sure Tomlin should get that credit, what say Ye ?

Ray horton left a db coach position here for a DC position iirc

So he should have been fired right after he won a playoff game? I want him replaced but you are very high up on the dumb as **** scale. I want to believe you are trolling but seeing your overall body of work, I believe you are just that bad at talking football. You are at an elite level of idiot do not get it twisted, every time someone reads your jibbierish someone loses a brain cell. You better hope it isn't you because you have very few to spare. ****.

I expect him as HC to change the game plan. How about his(non-action) action from one week to another? Same game plan every week. So Tomlin must be on board with this shitfest of a game plan.

Right. What did I say different? My point was he isn't gonna throw the guy under the bus at a press conference.
